"TRADED: JUAREGUI-CABELLOS AND HANSEN"

The day after their big win, Lauren, Camila and Dinah signed the trade papers. Not too long after that did the word hit the press and spread like wildfire.  Once the ball got rolling on the move and press started asking for official comments.  Ally and Normani told their friends that it would be best to release a statement after they were officially living in New Orleans.

After a solid two weeks of living among boxes and crates, they were finally settled in and getting used of New Orleans.  Their siblings had taken excellent care of Samuel and managed not to lose him. They took him to the zoo multiple times, a water park, normal parks, the mall, a skate park, and just about anywhere else they could take him to wear him out.

Lauren and Camila had about a month before official practices with the New Orleans Cavalry and both the wives and the team were ready to release an official statement. The GM of the Cavalry emailed Normani, who had made the move with Lauren and Camila, a statement so that she could draft a statement that matched theirs.  Normani texted Lauren so that she could read them before they released them.

“Baby, how long are you going to be in the shower for?” Lauren asked as she sat down on their bed and read the email that Normani just forward to get.  “I’m out, whatcha got babe?”  Camila came out wrapped in a towel.

“First of all...but some clothes on. I can’t concentrate with you dressed, or rather not dressed, like that. Please and thank you!” Lauren kissed Camila on the cheek as she got up to change. “Grab a notepad while you’re at it!”

“Read it while I’m changing so that I can think of good ideas to put in our statement.”

“Once again, not a good idea.”

“Okay, Okay...I’ll go change.”

About seven minutes later, Camila came back to the bed, fully dressed and with the notepad that Lauren had asked her to bring.

“Alright, open it!”

Official statement from the office of Savannah Thomas, General Manager for the New Orleans Calvary:

“The New Orleans Calvary is extremely proud to welcome Lauren and Camila Jauregui-Cabello to New Orleans. Negotiations were completed earlier last month. Camila will take Alexis Smith’s Point Guard position and Lauren is joining as Power Forward.  We look forward to experiencing many victories with the Jauregui-Cabellos on the Calvary.”

“That was pretty straight forward, got any ideas of how to word or structure ours?” Lauren asked as she opened up a blank word document.

“How about something like this?” Camila grabbed the laptop and started typing.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM LAUREN AND CAMILA JAUREGUI-CABELLO

"We are so stoked to be joining the Cavalry here in New Orleans. Over the past few weeks as we moved our belongings from Miami to our new home, everyone has been so helpful and gracious toward us and our family. We'd like to thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts. We can't wait to step on the court when the season starts. Go Knights!"

"That sounds good, I'll forward it Normani so that she can tweak it and release it. What have you got planned for the rest of the day?”

“Well, I was thinking that we could go explore the city a little. We’ve been inside unpacking for a while. Sammy needs to let off some steam and we can get some lunch at this little hole in the wall place that Mani told me about.”

“I’m down for anything that involves food, soooo starved.” Lauren walked out of the room to get Samuel ready for their day out on the town. “Make sure you pack a jacket in his bag, we might be out late.” Camila added, she knew exactly where her wife was headed.

“Got it!” Lauren was always, three steps ahead of the play.

Their day out on the town was great. Lauren and Camila found some great little shopping boutiques, Samuel spent some time at a kiddie park, and together they had an awesome day.  Frankly, Camila and Lauren were beginning to like New Orleans.  Everyone in the city treated them like normal people, and except for some hellos, ‘oh my, its Lauren and Camila’, and ‘can you sign this?!’, they weren’t really being bothered.  Maybe it was because the statements hadn’t been released yet or maybe it was because no one really cared, but whatever the reason was, they were enjoying the freedom.

However, that freedom didn’t last long because when they were walking out of the grocery store, which was their last stop for the day, they were swarmed by paparazzi.

“Lauren is it true that Camila cheated and you moved to Louisiana to save your marriage?”

“Are the bankruptcy claims true?”

“Camila, why aren’t you wearing your wedding ring?”

As more questions are thrown at them, Lauren and Camila did all they can to shield Samuel and get out of the line of fire. It took twenty minutes for them to get in the car, and out of the parking lot safely.

“Oh my gosh! How can there be less of them but more questions and so much louder?” Camila wonders aloud as she tries to keep Samuel calm in the back seat.

“Everything is bigger in the Big Easy, Baby.”

There was about two weeks left before the official practice season, everything was out of boxes and placed in their proper place, and Lauren and Camila were fully settled in their new home.  After a few days of being out and about,  there were less paparazzi following the basketball stars and life seemed to be getting back to normal, whatever that meant for Jauregui-Cabellos.

Samuel was in bed for the night and his mommies were going to be doing the same shortly, but not before their nightly social media check. Lauren had the laptop and Camila had both of their phones. There was nothing unusual about the things popping up in their timelines, just as Lauren was about to close her laptop, a tweet caught her eye.

@ClkKent: @LJC_22 and @CJC_93 really do have some nerve joinin @NOLACALVARY, they shoulda stayed where they came from. they can't ball

“Wow, babe, people really don’t have manners anymore. Check this out..” Lauren showed her wife the screen. Camila shook her head in disbelief. “Would it be bad if I wanted to respond?” Camila closed her eyes and waited from a respond from her wife.

“Actually, I don’t think that’s such a bad idea! Have at it.”

Camila chewed on the inside of her lip as she thought carefully about what she wanted to say. “How about something like this?” Her hands typed away until she showed Lauren the tweet.

@JaurCabFam: @ClkKent, we’re just doing what we love and as far        as @NOLACALVARY is concerned, we’re happy to have a new place to call home #muchlove

“Sounds good.  I’ve crafted one of my one of my own.” Lauren said as she handed her phone back to her wife.

@LJC_22: Moving to NOLA was great for @CJC_93, @JaurCabFam, and I...really loving the small city, can’t wait to step out on the court soon

“Love it. Can we get to bed now, I’m kinda worn out.”

“Right there with you! Goodnight, Baby. Excited to see what tomorrow and every day after brings.”

"Forever and Always."

"Always and Forever."
