the party had substantially calmed down since two hours ago. only about two dozen people remained. some mingled in the kitchen, others sat in a circle on the living room floor, an empty beer bottle in the center of the group. you were among the latter. you didn't recognize some of the people in the group, but it didn't much matter, considering billy hargrove was part of the circle. you'd be lying if you said you didn't have a slight crush on the boy.

you didn't know what it was, but bad boys were irresistible. you suppose it was your type. tommy had finished off the last of his beer about five minutes ago and had convinced all of you to play spin the bottle with him. carol didn't seem to be too impressed by the idea. it probably wasn't the smartest game to play when your partner was at the party. you fiddled with your fingers, wondering if it was too late to back out now. tommy would probably make fun of you. you bet billy would too. the thought of your crush making fun of you made you want to vomit, so you stayed in your criss-cross position.

tommy swept his gaze over the group with an almost malicious look, his tongue darting out to wet his lips. "so who's gonna start?" he asked. nobody said anything, some even going so far as to look at the ground. it looked more like a classroom than a game of spin the bottle.

steve harrington cleared his throat, puffing his chest out. "i'll go." it was almost too obvious he was trying to impress the others in the group. he shot you a small smile before wrapping his fingers around the neck of the beer bottle and giving it a good spin. it seemed to spin on for an infinite amount of time until...

it landed on the girl to your left. you didn't know her name, but she was a redhead. pretty, too. you scooted to the side, allowing steve some space to crawl over. he cleared his throat awkwardly before planting a tentative kiss to the girl's lips. the girl placed her hands on his chest slightly. they seemed to enjoy the kiss almost a little too much. tommy cleared his throat, driving the couple away from each other.

a rosy tint to his cheeks, steve crawled back to his original seat on the floor. he shot you another look, an indecipherable emotion behind his eyes. you tilted your head to the side, confused. you and steve didn't talk much. you had chemistry and world history together, and that was about it. you'd joke around in your classes, and sometimes he'd ask for the homework answers, but that was as far as your relationship with him went. for some reason though, he was paying extra attention to you tonight.

the redhead to your left reached for the now-still bottle, snapping you out of your thoughts. she glanced at steve once more before giving it another good spin. this time it landed on a brunette boy. another nameless person you'd probably never see again outside of this night. you averted your gaze as the two kissed; you felt it deserved privacy, despite the setting being anything but.

you felt a gaze burning holes into your head, so you looked up slightly, just enough to see that billy had been staring at you. your lips parted slightly and you blinked a few times, trying to be certain that he was really looking at you.

his blue eyes still remained on your ducked figure, a smirk curling the corner of his lip upward. you flashed him a tentative, toothless smile, wondering if this was all in your imagination. were you crazy, or was billy hargrove expressing some interest in you?

the redhead and brunette dislodged their lips, and the boy was left with the task of spinning the bottle. and spin the bottle he did. and it landed on... you. he wasn't half-bad, but you definitely needed more alcohol in your system to kiss a complete stranger. it seemed to you, though, that downing beer right before kissing someone would seem rude; especially given your company.

so, instead, you opted to lean forward expectantly, waiting for his lips to inevitably meet yours. he wasted no time as his hand met your cheek, pulling you in a little closer. he was a good kisser too. you wondered absently how much practice he'd had. ultimately, you were the one to pull away, the back of your hand wiping your lips.

"you're a good kisser," you said, your voice breathy. the boy only winked, a goofy smile on his face. suddenly, you realized you had many of your classes with him. it seems kissing him had sharpened your memory. you though his name was evan. or ethan? something with an e.

you blushed, just now realizing what you'd said in front of a crowd of people. you comforted yourself by saying you merely stroked the boy's ego. with a somewhat shaky hand, you took the neck of the cold glass bottle between your fingers and spun it for the third time that night.

it landed on the last person you expected it to, but the only person you hoped it would. billy.

his demeanor immediately shifted. he somehow exuded even more cockiness than usual. he didn't even give you the chance to process what had just happened before he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you into his chest. it was painfully obvious he was trying to show up your last kissing partner. you didn't really mind this blatant show of testosterone, though.

you hesitantly rested your hands on his shoulders as he gave you a heart-stopping kiss. his lips were the softest thing you'd ever felt. they were like velvet. his hands gently squeezed your hips and— was that his tongue in your mouth? you'd never frenched anyone before.

again, you forced yourself to stop the kiss, as it felt like it was going on for far too long in a public setting. billy leaned in once more and whispered in your ear, "call me."
