A Conversation

Keefe and Fintan sat upon a rooftop in paris, sitting in silence.

Keefe stared at the effiel tower, wondering what the view from the top would be.

Fintan broke the silence. "Out of all these people." He says. "Who would you save?"

Here we go again.

"I.... I don't know." Keefe said, looking at Fintan then back at the effiel tower.

"Well, look at them." Fintan says. "Which one would you save?"

"Its not that simple." Keefe says.

"Which one?" Fintan repeats more firmly this time

"Just... let me look." Keefe mutters

Keefe scanned the crowd when his eyes stumble upon a girl, about his age, with long blond hair.

And he immediately thought of his precious Foster

It wasn't just her hair, it was was the why she walked. She was walking with her friends laughing at the jokes they were telling, but you could tell she was their leader.

She carried herself as if she knew in her heart, that alot of times it wasn't okay. But right now it was so we should enjoy it.

Keefe blinked away tears

"That one." Keefe said. "Her."

"Why?" Fintan asks. "Usually you choose the children."

Keefe shrugged and muttered."I don't know."

"I know why." Fintan says bitterly.

Keefe's heart pace quickened. "Its not-"

"Your mother." Fintan says. "They have similar hair."

Keefe turned quickly at Fintan. "I....yeah."

"She looks familiar to you." Fintan spoke like he was the wisest person in the world. "Thats why you chose her."

"Yeah, thats why." Keefe says

"Do you miss her?" Fintan asks

"No." Keefe says

"I mean the moonlark."

Keefe's heart skipped a beat.

"N-no! Why would you think that!??!?!?" Keefe said quickly

"Don't get so defensive." Fintan says. "Come on, lets go."

Fintan stood up and started walking away. "Keefe, are you coming?"

Keefe stole one more glance at the girl, who just so happened to be holding hands with a brown haired boy.

And he knew he had to go back to the girl he fell in love with.

And he knew he had to win her over.

"Yeah, coming!" Keefe said as he ran up to Fintan
