Veteran's Honor

Men and women of the red, white, and blue.

Are standing on the Frontline fighting for you.

Out there in the open risking their lives

Shielding themselves from guns, bombs, and knives.

Veterans have it hard while we have it easy.

Their difficulties could make one queasy.

They do their best to hold up our freedom.

While we do our best to sit and eat edam.

(It's a type of cheese)

They are shipped here and there

While we roam without care.

The worry builds up everyday

When they go to stray away.

And after the things they've seen

They feel lucky to be clean.

If you only knew

What they have to go through.

Nothing about it is simple.

Some of them come home crippled.

Some never come home at all.

They may just stay down after the fall.

Take this time to honor the Veterans

That do what you can't or won't

The ones who fight

Day and night

You owe them that much

Since you sit at home and munch

While you waste your life away

They give up everything

Don't try so hard to not try at all

Maybe it won't hurt so bad when they take the fall

This is injustice for those

Who fight for you and your 'nose'

I am speaking to you

Letting you know

Who you are

You  won't go far

With this attitude

It might be rude

But I don't know who you  think you're kidding

With your own strings you're fiddling

Now while they fight

With all their might

I stand and salute

Won't you, too?
