Just a friendship ?

'Hey .' He held my wrist. 'Where are you going leaving so soon ?'

'Oh. I have something to do. Enjoy the party .' I smiled.

'How are you going to go back ? You came with Katelyn and Nicole didn't you ?' He asked.

'It's alright. I can manage myself .' I replied. 'Anyways. I'll see you tomorrow .'

'I'll walk with you .' He closed the door behind him and joined me.

'Oh. You really don't have too.' I said.

'Last time I left you alone , you got beat up by Michi and Sasha .' He said.

'I managed to defend myself. I'm fine .' I said.

'Whatever you say potato.' He placed his hands in his pocket. We started walking.

'You're so annoying .' I rolled my eyes.

'Says the potato .' He said.

Should I ? He is in my pack.

'Why are you always such a goodie goodie ?' He asked.

'What ?' I asked.

'Doing extra work. Giving in your homework in time. Helping teachers. How do you still have a social life ?' He asked.

'I mean that's why you go to school right ? Make your parents proud. Get good grades.' I replied.

'You take being a star student to the next level. I mean. Who on earth stays back after school to help clean up ?' He asked.

I giggled. 'It's not that difficult. And it doesn't take that long to clean up .'

'But why ?' He asked.

'I had to.' I said.

'Your parents are high achievers ?' He asked.

'Kinda. Ish.' I said. 'How about yours ? Your work seems pretty good .'

'I'm just smart you know .' He said.

I giggled. 'What's so funny ?' He asked.

'I used to be like you .'

'What ?' He snorted. 'No way .'

'Proud. Mysterious. I loved going to parties. Being a little smart mouth. Going against the rules.' I smiled thinking about those moments.

'I'd like to meet that Aphmau. What happened ?' He asked.

'Some major changes.' I said. 'I realised I had to turn my life around .'

'What changes ?' He asked.

'I had a little baby boy .' I smiled.

He stopped in his tracks. 'Wait. W-what ?' He asked.

'Didn't expect that didn't you ?' I smiled.

'You're a mother ?' He asked.

'Yup .' I continued walking. He joined me.

'H-h-How ? W-Why ?' He asked.

'I had a best friend growing up. He was 2 years older than me but we used to spend every free moment we had with each other. His parents managed to convince my parents that we were destined for each other. And honestly. He treated me like he really wanted me to stay in his life .' I said.
