Family will Save You

Chapter 21

August 16th
Percy Stark

My birthday is in two days, and I'm going home today. It's been over three months since I arrived here, and I'm a whole lot better.

It took Charles almost a month to get all of HYDRA out of my head. But since then, I haven't lost control once. I'd say he did a pretty good job.

The last two months have been full of training. I leaned to use my powers in ways I never thought possible. Everyone was really nice, and helped me how ever they could, even Kurt. I now know that he was a victim of circumstance, and he was innocent.

Line Break

I stood outside the building with Logan, Charles and the rest of the team.

"Thank you, all of you, for everything. I don't know where I would be without you."

Everyone came around and said bye to me, before going g back inside. Soon enough it was just Logan and Charles.

"Be careful Percy, and tell you father I said hello." Charles told me.

I nodded and shook his hand. "Will do. Thank you for everything. You really saved me."

The older man only smiled before going back inside. I turned to the only person left. Logan.

Me and Logan had grown close the last few months. I found out he had been through similar things as me, and we bonded quickly. He was like a protective older brother.

Gosh I have a lot of protective older brother figures who are very deadly.

I held my hand out and he laughed before giving me a hug. "I don't do this often bub, so don't tell anyone."

"I wouldn't dare." I said with a smirk. When he pulled back I saw a sadness in his eyes. "Take care of yourself. And if your ever in update New York, stop by the compound. I could always use the company."

His smiled returned, "I might just have to take you up on that offer. Now get going. Your family is waiting."

I got in my car and looked into his eyes. "I think I can count you as family now too Logan."

He wakes my arm, "Stop getting sappy on me. Remember punch your father for me."

I smirk, "Don't worry, I would never forget that." I closed the door and starting pulling away, I saw Logan walk towards his bike. He got in and waited until I pulled away to zoom off to his own future.

Time Skip

It was about two o'clock when I pulled into the compound. I headed inside and found everyone in the living room.

No one had seen me yet, and there was a open spot in the couch between Dad and Steve. I jumped over the back of the couch and sat down between the two men. They both jumped back, and I dropped my arms over their shoulders.

"Miss me?" (A/N Sherlock anyone?)

"Percy!" Dad finally realized, "it's so good to see you!" He wrapped me in a half hug.

We all stood up and I got lots of hugs. I looked back at my dad. "Charles says hi, and this," I punched his in the arm, "is from Logan."

He grappled his arm, "What was that for?"

"To be fair, he wanted he to hit you with my metal arm so I was doing you a favor." I told him with a smirk.

"Oh thanks. Glad to know I can count on you to be fair."

"So," Steve started after a minute, "you get all of your problems sorted out?"

I smiled as we sat back down. "Yeah, I think I did. HYDRA is out of my head, and I'm in control of my powers. I feel great."

"We are all glad to hear that." Clint told me.

For the next hour or so we all just sat around catching up. It was so good to be with my family again. Don't get me wrong, the x-men were great, but they weren't the same.

"I hate to break up this live feast, but Steve, Sam, Wanda. We have to go." Natasha informed us.

"Where are you going?" I asked them.

Steve stood up and looked at me. "Lagos."

With that, the four people in question left to get ready. Little did I know this would be the last time in a whole hat we would all just be able to sit around joking.
