Logan
We were sitting at lunch discussing Percy. He was still asleep and we were trying to figure out how to help him.
"Do some minor training with him today, and tonight I will work on his mind." Charles said finally.
"If he ever wakes up." I responded. "He's been asleep for almost 12 hours, how do you expect us to train him and leave time for you?"
"Your right. But what happened yesterday took a large toll on his body, and it will take a while to regain his strength." Charles paused for a moment. "How about, we alternate what he does. One day I have him, the next day he trains. That way we won't be pushing him to much each day. And I shouldn't have to work as hard as I did last night."
We all nodded agreeing to his idea. After a few more minutes, the others got up to get ready for class.
"Do you think we can really help him?" I ask the other man.
"I believe we have the ability. The real question is will he allow himself to get the amount of help he needs?" With that he wheeled himself out of the room and I was alone.
Time Skip
It was 4:30 before Percy got up. Charles notified me via my brain and asked me to go find him.
I went to his room and knocked on his door, there was just a grunt for an answer. When I opened the door I found Percy sitting on his bed staring at the wall. His eyes were red and had large bags under them. His hair was a mess and his clothes were a screw, and what he had in yesterday.
"Afternoon sleepy head."
"What time is it?" He managed.
"A little past four in the afternoon."
"Why didn't you guys wake me?"
"Because you needed sleep." I walked over to him, "And now you need a shower. I'll be in the kitchen, come find me when your done."
The kid nodded and stood up. He walked into his bathroom and shut the door. I went to the other side of the room and exited.
Twenty minutes later the kid walked into the kitchen. He looked a little more alert but still really tired. He sat down and put his head on the table.
"You okay?" I asked cautiously.
He was quiet for a minute, and I thought he feel back asleep.
"Image," he finally said, "that your brain is a potato. It should be whole and together. Well now imagine someone started smashing your Potato of a brain. Every time HYDRA wiped my mind, the potato got smashed more. When I finally escaped it was nothing more than mashed potatoes.
"As I got my memories back, it's like someone was adding small chunks of potato, but all the mashed stuff was still there. But when the professor was going though my mind, it's like as if you took a fork and dug through a plate looking for the chunks. And it was like he would through the mashed potatoes on the floor.
"But it's still there, as if someone went behind him and picked up all the mashed potatoes and just sent them on one section of the plate. So now it's not as intertwined with the chunks, but it's still there. Waiting. If anything happens, and the plate shifts, they will mix again." He sat with his head resting on his fists, looking exhausted.
"That was descriptive."
"Yeah, but do you understand why I'm not okay now?" His Voice was harsh, and I knew I had to be careful with what I said.
"Yeah I do. It my surprise you bub, but your not the only one this has happened to." I lifted my hand and let my claws come out. "You think my bones have always been metal?"
He looked at me in awe, and I realized this is the first time he's seen my claws. "I was kidnapped. Experimented on, my bones were replaced with metal. I don't know who I was before that. And I don't care, not now. But I know your not okay, because I wasn't either. But Charles can help you, you just have to give him a chance. Now I have a question for you."
The kid looked surprised at the sudden change is subject, but nodded. "Why did you freak out when you saw Kurt?"
Percy stiffened and said nothing. He kept his head down refusing to look at me.
"This isn't up for discussion, you have to give me an answer." I demand.
After a moment he finally spoke. "When I was with HYDRA. I got shot, not on a mission or anything. I was just walking to the bathroom. Someone shot me, the ceiling fell on me. It's why I have this." He held up his metal arm.
I didn't understand what this had to do with Kurt, but he continued before I could ask.
"The man who shot me had a cloak on and I didn't get a good look at him. But he wasn't alone. His friend was more distinctive. He had what I assumed was a blue rope hanging off his belt, and a mask. A blue mask.
"Before anyone could get down to help me, the two men were gone. They disappeared. Agents tried to tell me that I must of passed out, or looked away. But I know what I saw. They disappeared in a cloud of blue smoke. The exact same blue smoke "Kurt" appeared in. He had the same face as the thing I thought was a mask, and you guessed it, the rope was a tail." The kid growled. He looked up at me and his eyes were filled with pain and hatred. "It's his fair I'm like this," he through his metal stem up again, "I almost died because of him. My body was almost completely crushed, and the ruble missed my head by centimeters. When I saw him, I knew he came to finish what he started, to finish me. Destroyer went to fight or flight, and he didn't believe in flight. We, I thought "Kurt" was here to kill me, so destroyer decided to kill him first."
He looked me right in the eyes as he finished, and his gaze sent a shiver down my back. The way he spoke, the fear and anger in his voice, it made me doubt Kurt for a moment. I quickly pushed the thought away.
"Look, I don't know why he was at HYDRA, or who he was with, but he won't hurt you."
Percy growled again, and he sent me a glare so intense it made me back up slightly. "In case you are blind, or didn't hear me the first time, he did hurt me! It's just a matter of time until he does again!" He stood up, knocking his chair over. He started towards me.
I stood up and grabbed his arms. "Listen bub. Your angry. You want revenge, but you need to let us figure some things out first. There is a lot going on that no one understands, just give us some time."
He shook slightly, trying to get out of my grip, but I held in tight. "And just so you know," I said, "Kurt was even more afraid of you last night that you were of him."
