bellamy's pov

'they should be back by now.' raven said as she paced back and forth by the gates of camp, nervously chewing at her fingernails.

clarke, finn and dylan (a/u: just a random name) went out of camp to find some food hours ago. i wasn't worried about them until moments ago, when i realized the sun was beginning to set.

'they will be fine raven.' i told her reassuringly 'clarke and finn can take care of themselves, they'll be okay.'

suddenly, we heard commotion coming from the gate watchers. they had reached for their guns and were pointing them beyond camp walls.

'identify yourself!' miller shouted from behind his gun.

'i'm dylan!' the intruder shouted in a measly voice.

'open the gates!' miller shouted as everyone lowered their gun.

'didn't dylan go with clarke and finn on the hunting trip?' raven asked sceptically as she walked towards the young boy and examined him. he had been beaten, he had quite a few cuts and bruises on his face but besides that he looked unharmed.

'bellamy!' dylan shouted almost looking relieved when he saw me. 'the grounders! they took clarke and finn. we were attacked but they let me go. they told me to give you a message. they want you to meet them on the bridge tomorrow morning at first light.'

'and what happens if i don't meet them?' i asked, confused as to why they think i would voluntarily walk into a trap.

'they'll kill clarke and finn.' dylan said, not able to meet my gaze.

'shit.' i cursed as i walked away from the wall.

i knew that we had to go to the bridge. i didn't know what was going to happen, the grounders were very unpredictable people. but i knew that i couldn't let clarke and finn die, not if i have the chance to save them.

i walked around camp looking for y/n. she was not only my girlfriend who would no doubt help calm me but also the third co leader of this camp. normally, clarke, her and myself would make these decisions. but with clarke gone, it would just be a meeting between us.

'y/n!' i called when i saw her walk into the drop ship. 'we need to talk.'

y/n's pov

'shit' i cursed when bellamy told me about the message dylan had delivered. 'we have to go.'

'i know we do... but i don't know what's going to happen.' bellamy said, he was confused as to why the grounders would call a meeting. hell, i was too. 'we could be walking into a trap.'

'no, we most definitely are walking into a trap.' i corrected 'but we have to go. the question is how to minimize damage.'

'you're right.' bellamy said and i could tell his brain was figuring out a battle plan 'dylan said they only wanted to see me. so only i go to the bridge. we only bring a few backups. that way if it's an attack it will take out only a few of us. backup will hide underneath the bridge and out of sight. they can scan the trees for grounders.'

'okay, we keep some strong warriors and leaders back at camp.' i added as my brain started sending ideas on how to minimize the impact of the trap we were no doubt walking into. 'that way they can still thrive even if the grounders attack us at the bridge.'
