Taehyung managed to ignore Yoongi for multiple days, however he knew this day would come.
The day that he couldn't run from his issues anymore and actually had to face his lover about their problem. Or rather, his own problem.
Yoongi stood with his arms folded against the only door of that room. Probably to prevent Taehyung from running out again mid conversation.
Fair enough.
Taehyung sat on the newly bought bed like a child waiting to be called into the principal's office. He knew he was in trouble and that Yoongi wouldn't let him off easy. He had disrespected the man and not only that, refused to acknowledge him for days. That man is the man he is supposed to be in a committed relationship with, yet Taehyung couldn't help but act like a teenager who wasn't ready for something serious.
Maybe 'cause he wasn't.
"We need to talk." Yoongi eventually broke the silence, making Taehyung finally look up from the floor. "Yeah, we do."
Yoongi's back was still very much glued against the door when he spoke up again. "I really tried getting that studio in here, you know? It just didn't fit."
"Could've tried harder…" Taehyung muttered under his breath, completely forgetting that a vampire's hearing is better than the average human's hearing.
"Tae, don't be like that. I care about you and therefore I care about your career, but not having your studio here is not an impossible thing to work with. Having an at home studio is a privilege, not the necessity you claim it to be."
"Easy for you to say, you still have your office."
"The office holds historic value. All my ancestors worked there, it's an honor I have to uphold as a part of the Min family." Taehyung clicked his tongue in annoyance. Dead family above his lover huh? "Am I not that important to you?"
"...Did you listen to a word I just said?" Yoongi raised his brow at him, he was not making any sense. Taehyung didn't reply, staying quiet while deep in thought.
"I promise to get you a spacious studio in town and I'll even pay for it, okay? It just can't be in this house anymore."
"Don't want it. Do you know what I also don't want?" Taehyung stood up from the bed, anger seething off of him like a temper tantrum throwing toddler. "Don't do this Taehyung." Yoongi said, knowing exactly which way this conversation was going.
"I don't want this relationship anymore. We obviously can't be together if you prioritize some corpses over me, your boyfriend!"
"It's family ho-"
"I don't fucking care." The mundane hissed, stepping closer to Yoongi and towering over him. "I'm done with you, with us. I'm leaving. I'm not ready for this."
"Will you come back when you are ready?" The vampire tried, he was hundreds of years old, waiting for a mortal was not exactly too demanding. Especially considering this mundane held a special place in his heart. "I don't know, now, let me leave." Taehyung spoke, the usual warmth of his voice completely gone.
Yoongi looked down at the floor before stepping away from the door. "As you wish. Goodbye Taehyung, I wish you the best." Taehyung looked at him with an emotionless look before he eventually left the room.
The closing of that door marked the end of an era, the end of a relationship.
Taehyung and Yoongi weren't meant to be.
However that didn't mean their love wasn't any less real. The two loved each other deeply, despite those three words never having been uttered to each other.
Love is a journey of trial and error and sometimes, you have the right person at the wrong time. And sometimes, you thought you had the right person but eventually found out that they weren't.
There is nothing wrong with having to explore this, love is meant to hurt, because that's how you grow.
However, it would be a lie if it was said that Yoongi wasn't actively mourning the loss of his first true love. He had never loved freely before because of his father's demands, Taehyung was the first one to grab his by now free to take heart.
Maybe Yoongi should've been more careful with it.
Maybe Taehyung wasn't meant to be his, and he should learn to accept it. He'll find someone, maybe he'll find Taehyung again, maybe not.
But someone is out there who is meant to have his heart.
So despite Yoongi's heartbreak and despite the tears that just couldn't be stopped. He knew he had been loved, despite having lost it. Loving and losing, part of life.
For the first time in his life,
Min Yoongi had been loved....
