Harry Osborn's POV
I sat beside my father deathbed with tears in my eyes.
He nearly past the point of no return. He could apparently still speak it just took a lot of energy and would be able to hear everything until his very last breath.
His hand twitched on the bed making me sit up quickly and come closer to him.
He whispered something I couldn't hear making me come closer to his lips in hopes of hearing him this time.
"Don't fuck up my company you selfish worm." He seethed out before grabbing a hold of my throat and pushing me away. Had he been in full health I would have cowered in the farthest corner like I had done when I was younger but now he wasn't a threat.
He couldn't push over a toddler in his current state; there was no reason to be afraid of him anymore. I refused to let him win one last time before he died.
"I should burn it down to the ground just in spite of you." I seethed back him causing him to give a roaring laugh that led to a coughing fit that I didn't help him get rid of.
"You always had been a boy to do things out of spite." He commented a bit louder.
"How would you even know? You sent me away. You didn't even want me."
"I didn't want you." He confirmed making me shake and my hatred for him grow. "I needed an heir to give my hard earned riches to, instead I got you. I got another man's kid because your mother was nothing but a whore."
"Her actions are not my fault." I said bravely. Had I said that to him at full health he would have killed me.
"But it's your fault you're here. You could have died like all the other useless still borns."
"You make it seem like I wanted this life."
"Everyone wants this life until they see what it's really like." He coughs yet again making me cringe at the way it shakes the room.
"You'll end up like me you know." He croaks out with a smile. "But you have less time than I do. The disease hates you more than it hated me.
"You ruin my company and I'll make sure you to make the rest of your days hell when you die." I couldn't help but shudder at the thought of us being together in what ever after life there was.
"You're going to hell," I said confidently. "And I'm not going to be there to wipe that smug smile off your face when you realize you'll be there alone for the rest of your days because no one has done more things wrong than you." He looks at me with a sick expression before chuckling lightly.
"You'll join me there when you die, you just don't realize it yet."
"I've done nothing to end up in a place with you."
"You haven't yet but you will. In the end you will never out run me. This disease will ensure that you are trapped with me forever."
A shiver went down my spine at the thought of never being able to get rid of him.
He sees my shiver and chuckles lowly. Little by little it escalates until he is cackling at the top of his lungs.
"Sir," one of my bodyguards said to get my attention. "Would you like me to get a nurse?" I glare at my father's dying body on the bed. He gasped for air but seemed like he was getting nothing.
"No." I said simply before returning to my seat beside the bed.
I almost couldn't control my smile when the sound of my father's heart monitor began to flat line. I closed my eyes as people piled in the room to save him. I did nothing to stop them; their attempts would be fruitless.
After a few moments the head doctor sighed before turning to the nurses in the room.
"He's gone. Time of death 11:59 AM." That's when the first tear slid down my face.
He was dead. He was finally dead.
I was free.
"Sir, would you like to go home now?"
"No. Take me to the office and put his house up for sell. Bring me all the files leave everything else. Tell every potential buyer they can have anything in the house or they can throw it away." I said as I stood up proudly and glared at my father's now dead body.
"Anything else?"
"Put him in the ground. We're not having a funeral." I said as I walked out of the room.
I took a deep breath and for once it felt like I was actually alive. It felt like I wasn't trapped anymore.
I wasn't his slave anymore.
I wasn't Harold Osborn the only son of Norman Osborn and the heir to his company.
I was Harry Osborn the owner of Oscorp who could run the company however he wanted.
I was free.
This was just a bonus chapter that I thought would be a fun little addition to the story but I'm not going to lie, the main reason it's here is so you guys can see the beautiful cover for the next story and get a little bit of info about it.
In case you skipped over it or didn't realize it, the cover is up top.
I did not make this cover, it belongs to @Not_A_Hippogriff and I am very thankful that she made it for me because I have no clue how to make amazing things like this so if you loved the cover as much as I did then be sure to give her all the love.
And I thought why not let you guys have a little sneak peak of the story by giving you the description so here you go:
With a full team of super humans, Peter and Harley are ready to take on whatever threat comes their way... as soon as that threat happens.
Turns out world ending disasters don't happen as often as you would think.
Being an Avenger is pretty boring on their off days so with the excuse of it being a training exercise, Harley and Peter take the new team out on patrol looking for small time crime but they get a little more than they bargained for one special night when they find a trail of destruction.
They make it their new mission to find out who is doing this but when Tony Stark tells them to drop it, things get out of hand.
But not everything is not as black and white as you think.
Let me know what you guys think about the cover and the description because I think you guys are really going to like this next story but I'll never know if you don't tell me.
