Chapter 26: Desperate Cry

Kanji's View

I started to hyperventilate, everything around me was getting blurry. Sanji left the village.. My only brother, my only blood in this world left the village! For what!? Why..why now though..?

"Kanji!" They shouted, running to my side as I was about to topple over. "We're sorry about him..."

Teas streamed down my face, "W-Why?" I asked, choking on my tears. "Why did my brother leave me! Why! Tell me, please!"

Sakura hung her head, "I'm sorry, Kanji, but none of us really knows why..." She said.

Ino nodded. "We just got the news now. We thought we should tell you, don't worry though. We have Hinata, Kiba, and Shino going after him. After all, they are his team members." Ino added, smiling at me softly.

"They w-went after him?" I whispered, eyes widening in horror. I shot up from my seat. heading towards the door.

"Kanji!

"Where.... Where did they run to? Which way!?" I yelled, my eyes glowing fiercely.

"H-He ran towards the main gate, but that was awhile ago. He could be gone by now!" Sakura shouted, trying to convince me to stay. "It's too dangerous!"

I took a small step out the door, then looked back at Sakura. "You can tell me what's dangerous and what's not, you hardly ever experienced a true battle, Sakura! I'm going after my brother whether you like it or not!" I shouted, snarling my teeth at her.

She glared at me, "If you leave I'll tell the Hokage and Kakashi." She threatened me.

I smirked, "Do it." With that, I went sprinting to the main gate.

Sanji, I will bring you back no matter what. I don't care what you reason behind this is, it's not right. You'll be marked as a rogue ninja and then i'll never be able to see you again. There's no way i'm letting that happen.. I leaped off the ground onto a building. I saw Team 8 running somewhere, more specifically to Sanji. Found a lead, brother.

I ran as fast as i could over to them, occasionally leaping on building to building as well. I was closing in on the three of them, they were shouting at one another.

"Hinata! We need to go faster if we want to get Sanji back!" Kiba yelled.

"S-Sorry..Kiba-kun..I-I'll go f-faster!" Hinata stuttered, speeding up a bit.

Shino stayed silent and looked over at my direction. I frowned as I ran next to him.

"Are you going after your brother.." Shino asked.

I grunted, "Yeah.. About that, can you tell me more about the situation at hand?" I asked, with hard eyes.

He nodded slightly. "I don't know much...I'm very well ignored most of the time." Shino stated the truth. "I only know that Sanji is running due to his lack of strength, or need of power."

"So he left becuase he thought he didn't have enough power?!" I shrieked, catching Hinata and Kiba's attention. "This idiot, he has enough power now... I mean, you did see him beat me during the preliminary rounds right? He managed to take me down even when I had the damn curse mark from that snake man activated!"

"KANJI! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GOING HERE!?" Kiba screamed, very, very loudly.

"You idiot, isn't it obvious!?" I snarled.

"Kiba-kun..s-she's he-here to l-look for h-her b-brother.." Hinata said, poking her fingers together.

"Thank you, Hinata." I thanked her, then I looked at Kiba with a disgusted look. "At least there's two people on this team who actually understand, unlike you."
