"That man, little Skylet, is the key to changing the world." Xavier said simply, as if it were no big deal. My eyes enlarged as I looked into his soul deeply, trying to figure out what he had just said. I think he noticed my confused glances before he perked up,

"His name is Ryder. He is my brother. He's also against Angel's slavery. Also, not on 'friend terms' with his father either."

"Your father too?" I uttered, confused.

"He is no father to me."

"May I know why?" I asked.

"Secret for secret remember?"

I nodded. I didn't want to expose any other on my secrets! Not now anyways...

"Another time then." I said as he agreed.

"Once upon a few years ago, Ryder was madly in love. Not a crime, right? Well, he was madly in love with an angel. Now, that's looked down upon by people like the king... especially for a prince. Anyways cut the lovey dovey battles, his father found out and killed her. Painfully. The only reason he looked at you strangely was because... well, he's not seen another angel in decades." Xavier finished. "He also thought you reminded him of his ex angel lover."

"What was her name?"

"Um, something like Dahlia, Dalery? Can't really remember."

Then all so suddenly a tsunami of shock and realisation exploded in my brain. How many older sister went missing ages ago, we had guessed she'd been sold to a demon...

"Dalera?! I shouted.

"Um, yeh that was it!" Xavier said.

So happy to hear her name,, I almost smiled, until I remembered what he said had happened to her.

Then I broke down. All the hope I had hidden away inside of me escaped. The long prayers and passionate wishes that she was out there, healthy, alive still. This world really was packed with hatred and murder. What was left? What was left to live for when all my hope had immediately been struck bare from me? The one person who had cared and nourished me, taught me how to tie my laces, how to cross the road, the one person that tucked me in at night whilst my mother was gone, was now gone too. Everything, every aspect of my life, every memory, every emotion, every everything, had just vanished. I wiped a sorrowful tear from my face. There was nothing left. Dalera was dead. My Dalera. My own flesh and blood. Killed by sick hearted demons.

Wait.

Didn't Xavier say that Ryder was madly in love with her? I could see why, she was flawless, but is that not slightly coincidental?
