Xavier told me that he was busy at meetings therefore I took that as a opportunity to truly explore his mansion. I woke up, alone. I remember last night like a dream. I had fallen asleep, embraced in his warm arms as I remember waking up when he started to carry me back inside. I pretended to be asleep whilst listening to his steady heart beat. When we reached his room, he lay me down on the bed and took off all my clothes but my underwear. He gently lifted my body up and pulled a baggy t-shirt of his onto me. Having his smell on me made my heart beat faster for some odd reason. I then remember him stripping his shirt off and walking into the bathroom where I heard the shower go on for about twenty minutes. I was shocked. Since when did boys take so long in showers? Soon after he was dry he crawled back into bed beside me and pulled my waist into his abs and cocooned me into his warmth. It was paradise.

By the morning he was gone which made my heart sting but he had previously told me he would be busy. For once in a long time, I felt I wanted to make the effort so I got changed into a small cream summer dress which contrasted with my dark auburn black hair. It was lacy and floral and it had a heart shaped chest, a sequinned belt and a floaty skirt. Before leaving the room I looked at myself in the mirror. Angels aren't vain. In fact, they tend to think negatively about themselves as they appear to be more selfless than selfish. So I tried not to point out my flaws, and tried to be content with the happy girl in the mirror. I was happy. For once, I was happy. I was being treated well, perfectly in fact, I had a home, I had my belongings, I had love. I was happy.

I stepped out of Xavier's room after slipping in a beaded clip for my hair and some pearl bracelets and looked left to right. Quite frankly I was lost already and I hadn't even begun my exploration. I decided logically to go right, as it sounded right. I passed dozens of huge closed doors, only peaking in a few to realise most of them were just guest bedrooms. Every bedroom was designed differently, like it was uniquely made for one person. I passed a dark maroon and navy room which looked like it could be Clara's as she seemed quite secretive. I was still curious about her. Xavier and Ryder warned her about her but when I met her she seemed fine with me? What if she's planning something! anyways, I don't want to dwell it on right now.

I passed more bedrooms, one could have been Georgia's as it was decorated in vibrant quite eccentric purples and whites. Most were very simplistic but my bedroom was by far my favourite.

I eventually came to the end of the corridor and was met by two identical doors. I felt like the 'right' route I chose previously was quite dull so I chose the left door but was met by a large storage space. Silly me. I sighed shutting the door, I should've always gone with my 'right' instinct.

I timidly opened the other door, clueless as to what I'd see, and what I saw was nothing.

It was pitch black.

No floor. No ceiling.

Just pitch black.

It was terrifying.

I stuck my bed in further and I wasn't sure if it was my mind or eyes, but I swore I had seen a shadow move amongst the darkness. I stepped back, but stuck my foot out to see if I could feel the floor. Nothing. I was about to pull my leg back when I felt a scratch against my ankle. I screamed! There was something there! Something amongst the blackness that could See me very well! I kicked my foot around, trying to pull it back and I swear I hit a body or object of some sort!

I pulled my foot back, screaming and I slammed the door.

I ran back towards my bedroom, absolutely horrified! There was a monster living in Xavier's house! There was an abyss of darkness in his house beholding God knows what! I could have fallen into the bottomless pit with foot scratching creatures and died! Why! I needed to ask Xavier what it was! Just to prove to myself I wasn't hallucinating, I looked down towards my ankle, horrified to notice it was bleeding! I wasn't insane. There really was something.

However much I wanted to hide timidly in the corner of my room and sob about this house haunting me, something in my body was pulling me towards that door. It was like a magnetic pull connected to my chest, pulling me back on a string. I was going to die. The amount of times I had said that was countless, but this time I was. There are angels in this world, and there are demons, but the only creatures that live in bottomless pits are the devils themselves.

What's that myth again? About being scratched by a devil? If you get there venom in your bloodstream something happens to you right? Haha. I laughed to myself. That was just a silly myth, I tried to convince myself. However much I tried, I just couldn't remember what happened to you. So before I knew it, I had fallen into an uncertain sleep.
