"Don't be shy girl. You are dating my son now. I am sure we will be seeing a lot of each other". Aiden's dad states.

Okay, where is he going with this.

"Yeah I suppose." I say trying to be polite and keeping the conversation short.

"You know this summer fling or whatever you kids call it nowadays will not last."

Well this was a turn on the conversation. He has a lot of nerve to tell me about my relationship with Aiden.

"With all do respect Mr James." I started to say before being cut off.

"Please call me Jack." He insists

"Okay, Jack just because you fell out of love with someone does not mean that is the case for Aiden and I." I blurted without thinking first.

"You are a smart girl Danielle. You know you will never be good enough for my son!" Jack yells at me

I was furious. I had to bite my tongue and be the bigger person. I went upstairs grabbed my things and stormed out of that house. I shoved all my things in my mom's station wagon and headed back home without looking back.

The sunlight beamed through my window and I woke up the happiest I have in a long time. I couldn't wait to walk down the hall and see Danielle. Last night was more than I could ever imagine. I could tell Danielle was irritated that my dad invited Stephanie and her parents over as well but all that didn't matter. I was able to cheer her up fairly quickly and ended up having a great time.

I began walking down the hall reminiscing about the night before. The fireworks, her hand in mine and of course our second and third kiss. I was astonished because Danielle was even kissing me back. I was willing to wait and not overstep but she made the initiative to continue.

I made it to the spare bedroom and the door was wide open. I enter the room and my heart dropped. Danielle is nowhere to be found . The bed was made and the room was as empty as ever. What the hell? I thought to myself.

I made my way downstairs and it appears everyone is  still sleeping. I attempt  to walk out the front door when I am stopped in my tracks.

"Where the hell do you think you are going boy?" My Dad questions me and scares the living hell out of me. He is sitting on his leather recliner holding a glass of scotch in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Great he is drinking again.

"Dad I am going to go check on Danielle. She was not in the guest room this morning." I explain.

"That dumb bitch left last night." He chuckled obviously drunk already.

"Dad what the hell?" I blurt out knowing he is going to be furious with me for raising my voice at him.

"Aiden you better show your father some damn respect! I did you a goddamn favor making her leave." He smirks at me and It gives me the chills. I can't talk to him when he is like this but I have to know what the hell is going on.

"What do you mean by making her leave? What did you do?" I asked trying to stay calm that way I don't upset him more.

"You wanted her to be your girlfriend, but don't you worry son. I know she is not good enough for you so I handled the situation for you."

I was so furious that my hands are now in the form of fists. The nerve of this guy to decide my mother was no longer good enough for him, and now to say Danielle was not good enough for me? He has lost his Damn mind.

"Dad you have no right to decide that for me" I notice that I am yelling now. At this point I don't give a crap.

"Hell if I don't! Boy, you will not speak to me like that in my house!" Dad is standing up now , looking down at me and I swear he was about to hit me. I look away getting ready for the inevitable hit, but he turns away and laughs again.

"You would give up a life like this with Stephanie, to be with a girl who has nothing and you know nothing about? I didn't raise a Damn fool!

I can't reason with him like this. My Dad is too far gone.
