[ Heart Of Stone] Kokichi Ouma x Shuichi Saihara

☆ Chapter 6.5 : Dream : 003 ☆

Like always, he did a small check to make sure he was in a dream and wasn't still awake.

Shuichi blinked and looked around, they were in the trial room, all of them. He tried his best to remember where they left off before, then he remembered, they had just figured out that the killer was Kaede.
But, that wasn't even correct, Shuichi watched Rantaro poison himself, why is Monokuma going to execute her? That is against the rules! Everyone should be executed, not just her!

But Shuichi didn't say that, he didn't speak, he was too scared to speak.

He looked at Kaede answering all the questions being thrown at her, how is she so good at lying? She knew she didn't kill Rantaro, but she went along with it.

Everyone in the trial room knew themselves that Kaede wasn't the killer and that Rantaro had killed himself, but they still voted for her. Those vile creatures...

But then, he thought again, he had voted for Kaede along side them, not wanting to die. He wondered if the same thing would be happening if they picked someone else.

Kaede spoke about some things that weren't true, something along the lines of this...

"A couple days ago, Shuichi had found a moving bookcase and decided to show me. He moved it and showed me what was behind, it was a door with the same colour scheme as Monokuma, so we thought that maybe someone was helping Monokuma and was behind all of this. Something along the lines of a mastermind, controlling all of the stuffed animals here. We knew that the mastermind would go to that door to enter and make a new Monokuma once our time was up, so we placed three hidden cameras in the library to catch the mastermind. However, I thought that by killing the mastermind, I could also end the killing game itself, so I set up a trap to catch them dead in their tracks! And you all have already discussed it so I don't have to go into detail. Once we found Rantaro and the announcements stopped, I thought we killed the mastermind, but then the body alert thing went off and I realized that I killed an innocent person, however, at the time, I didn't up my hand up for the First Blood Perk, because I wasn't sure I have done and I wanted all of my friends to figure it out"

Shuichi, if that was the truth, would've been in tears like some of the other students there. He would've been the most emotionally hit out of all of them, as Kaede was his friend since the beginning, but no, he wasn't crying, he looked emotionless.

How could Kaede lie like that and have nobody notice how much of a lie it is?

However, he still didn't speak, he didn't want to mention this for any longer than needed, so he kept quiet.
Unsurprisingly, nobody cared. Everyone was just questioning the living daylights out of Kaede, and she continued to answer.

That is, until everyone ran out of questions to ask, feeling satisfied.

And soon, would be when the pain would begin, when Kaede would be executed. Shuichi wouldn't be able to watch, even if he knew she lied about everything, he was still friends with Kaede and couldn't bear to watch her get executed for no reason at all.
It would all be pointless.

Soon, Monokuma spoke, saying something about having created the most appropriate and special execution for the Ultimate Pianist, Shuichi could only imagine what it was going to be like.

Monokuma hit a button and some noises rang through the room before...

A chain with a chokehold came down from the ceiling of the trial room and grabbed Kaede by the neck, she tried to reach out to Shuichi, but he wouldn't be able to help.

Kaede was dragged up and away.

Soon, Exisals arrived in the trial toom and led them all to a room where they would be forced to watch her get executed, some rushed to see what was going to happen, or even attempted to stop the execution, but a few others like Shuichi walked slowly, not wantimg to see it.

Everyone finally arrived and the exisals surrounded them, threatening to shoot anyone who didn't pay close attention to the execution.

Kaede was dropped down onto a massive piano, but soon enough, the chain and chokehold came back down and grabbed her by the neck, raising her up. She tried her best to still be on one of the keys, but son failed as Monokuma started the execution properly.

Using Kaede's helpless body, the Monokubs played Der Flohwalzer. Slowly at first and then, they got faster, faster and even faster, faster until finally, they were all out tired and let her body just hang there.

Shuichi's eyes were wide, his eyes on the verge of tears, he didn't want to give in, no, he couldn't give in.
He failed.
He started crying.

His vision was blurry but he could still see that the lid of the piano was closing, threatening to crush Kaede, as if hanging her wasn't good enough.

He saw one of the Monokubs, Monodam, kick one of the others, Monokid, under the piano lid as it closed.
Soon, it crushed the two.

The piano was a bloody mess and Shuichi couldn't help but breaking into tears, he didn't want to let anyone know, so he tried his best to keep quiet.

Soon after the execution, everyone left to go back to their dorms as it was nighttime in the dream.

Shuichi ran into his and locked the door quickly, going and flopping down onto his bed as a crying mess.

He covered his face with his hat and cried quietly, then, he heard a knock on his door. Why didn't they just ring the bell?
Maybe they didn't want to attract everyone else's attention?

Either way, Shuichi took his hat off of his face and wiped away his tears. He quietly made his way over to the door and opened it, and there, he faced Kokichi, he was confused, in his dream, they didn't share dorms.

However, soon, Shuichi was overwhelmed.

And Kokichi spoke,

"I could tell you were crying during Kaede's execution, no need to cry, she'll be in a better place than this Shumai!"

Kokichi hugged Shuichi and he decided to hug back.

They stayed like that for a while.
