Chapter Five - Final Chapter
After school, I headed to the auditorium. I'm ready to meet Kaoru-kun and Tsugumi-chan here. They go to Haneoka, according to Kanon-chan, so I'll be patient waiting for them.
I didn't see Pastel*Palettes, but they had to be there preparing, right?
I headed over to the auditorium because I'm not actually patient at all.The large auditorium was empty, save for two people there, one with blue hair and the other with brown hair.
I tried walking past them, but the brown-haired one saw me.
"Hey! You're (Y/N)-san, right?"
"Huh?" I said. "How does she know me? Oh, wait, that's Imai-san!"
It was Lisa, but I call her Imai-san because I'm a gentleman. She's such a fun person to hang out with, though it's infrequent because her band, Roselia, is always practicing at the live house.
The girl next to her was unfamiliar to me. She looked at me. Her eyes were sharp and seemed to pierce through me."Here so early?" Imai-san asked.
"Just here to check if Pastel*Palettes were here," I told her.
"Yes," the blue-haired girl spoke out. "Hina was too excited to wait. The others just walked in."
Wait, I know that girl! Hikawa Sayo! The guitarist of Roselia! Duh, her sister is Hina-chan! They're so different.
"Oh, they must be backstage. Thanks, Hikawa-san!"
"Wait," Lisa stopped me. "They could be practicing. What if you interrupt them?"
"I mean, what're they gonna do? I'll be nice and quiet. I need to see Chisato-chan." I told her.
"Shirasagi-san seemed upset earlier," Sayo said. "She's not usually like that, so it must be serious."
"I know exactly what's going on," I said. "I just need to talk."
I stepped onstage and went behind the curtains. There, I saw the members of Pastel*Palettes, sans Chisato-chan.
They all saw me and crowded toward me."It's (Y/N)!"
The girl, whose name I remembered as Aya, shouted."Why's everyone so excited to see me today?"
I wondered."Who are you? (Y/N)?" a blue-haired girl asked. It was Hina-chan, Hikawa-san's sister.
"Ohh... wait, Chisato-chan's boyfriend!""Hina!" Aya scolded.
"What?" I was confused.
"What if Chisato-chan heard you?" Aya told Hina.
"Was I not supposed to say that? Chisato-chan isn't even here! She's sitting in the audience!"
We walked out onstage, in front of the curtain. The seats were all still mostly empty. Hina pointed to the audience. Imai-san waved at us.
I waved back, but a bit further behind her, I saw a shadowy figure, shrouded in shadows all the way in the back of the auditorium. It was too far to see who it was.
I walked offstage alone and saw that it really was Chisato-chan, just sitting there. Not crying or anything. As if she was a statue.
"Oh, boy," I thought. "Will I have to speak from my heart again? Thought I did that before."
Chisato-chan looked my way, and smiled.
"You came, (Y/N)?""Yeah! Thanks to Tsugumi-chan! And also because her and Hina-chan can't keep secrets! So uh... why so sad?"
