Ragrok's Fissure, Murky Woods

Legends say that at the bottom of an unknown pond in Anotia, lies an ancient beast. It is believed that the beast wrecked havoc in Anotia, obliterating entire villages, and killed countless people. It was reasonably short but bulky, and its body is composed entirely of rock, making it immune to most melee attacks.

It possessed some form of intellect, and certainly, it had a name. Many names were given to it, such as the Volcanic Fury, given for its red, rocky appearance and the reckless fighting style. However, it called itself one name only - Malphite.

Fame isn't a good thing, it wasn't long before several skilled magicians teamed up and subdued the beast. Working together, they imprisoned it underneath a vast pond, forced under the tremendous pressure of the water, rendering it unable to escape.

And it happened to be the very pond Aatrox decided to rest by.

Remnants of the binding floated delicately above a rocky figure, suppressing its power. The water, once blue, are now tinted red, stained by the leaking power discharged by the rocky mass.

The binding looked fragile, clearly worn out after suppressing the beast's power for so long. Malphite is about to break free. All it needed was a disturbance.

And it came.

An underwater tremor shook the fissure, and the binding glowed, and dissipated into many gold particles, dissolving into the water. Two red eyes stared unnervingly from the rock-like figure, and then it blinked, again and again.

Malphite stood itself to its full height, and let out a loud bellow. Shockwaves travelled through the water, but the water was too deep for it to reach the surface.

With jerky, and painfully slow movements, Malphite swam upwards towards the light. If news of its escape reached people's ears, panic would spread again. But no one knows, the once feared Shard of Monolith is no longer the violent creature it was...
