'RRRrrriiinnggg!!!!' I was awakened by my stupid alarm. I knocked it off the shelf and yanked the plug out the socket. I do not want to go to school today, its not the day. I didn't go to sleep until 6am because of my phone. Ugh, I hate it, it only goes down to vibrate and not silent so every time somebody follow me on instagram, twitter, or vine it make an annoying sound, no matter where it is.
I put my cover over me and threw my phone at the wall and put my pillow over my head only to have it yanked off by my dad. I glared at him as he just stood there, arms crossed and foot tapping.
"Well?" he said, every single morning we go through this aggravating harassment.
"Good night, dad." I grabbed my pillow from the floor, replacing it over my face, turning over with my comforter over me. My dad just does not give up. He took the comforter, sheets, and pillows off the bed. Once again, he stood there waiting on me to respond.
"Ugh, good morning dad." I said, fake smiling, getting up as he walked out and came back.
"Your mother has breakfast ready, so hurry before it gets cold. I ain't warming nothing up, either. If I come back and you in that bed again, be ready for that behind to be whoop." he walked off and I rolled my eyes.
After taking a shower and putting my clothes and shoes. Grabbing my phone and backpack I rushed downstairs to the kitchen. I was greeted by my mother's warm smile and my dad with his normal routine of coffee and the daily newspaper.
"Morning, sweetheart. Your foods on the counter." She kissed my forehead sitting at the table with my father. I grabbed my plate from the counter and sat at the table with my parents. As I began to eat, I saw my dad occasionally peeking at my from the newspaper.
"What?" I said, a mouth full off pancakes. He took a sip of his coffee as my mom continued scrolling down her Facebook timeline. After setting his white coffee mug down on the crimson brick red table cloth, he cleared his throat looking directly at me.
"Andrea, you're 17 now. There's alot of responsibility that comes with becoming a young adult. You have to find an apartment, a college and most of all, you need to start looking for a job." He plopped his newspaper back up, taking another sip of his coffee.
Every morning since I've turned 17, he's been down my back about getting a job, knowing that I'm not really hood at anything. I rolled my eyes as my mother sighed, placing her phone on the table.
"Your father is right, Drea, its your last year of high school then you'll be in college. The only thing we're paying for is tuition fees. You're going to have to find a job today so that you can begin to understand the concept of becoming an adult. Once you find an apartment, you'll have to pay bills and pay for your own food, honey." She agreed, looking concerned.
I got up and dumped my food, washing my plate and hugging both of them, heading towards the front door.
"Bye, mom and dad." I rushed outside to avoid the comment but I still heard it.
"Look for a job!" they yelled as the door closed and I head to school. Its going to be a long day.
