A Babysitter's Nightmare

Chapter 10

This past week, Craig has been extremely distant. He doesn't talk to me much any more, he doesn't smile at all anymore and he doesn't seem to pay any attention in class, just starring off into the distance then asking to step out everyday. I don't know what's going on but I hope he's alright.

We headed to lunch after fourth period and sat at the outside table. He sat here with his head down, not eating. He cried a little then got quiet again. This wasn't him. What ever is bothering him is turning him into an over emotional zombie, caught up in his feelings.

"Craig? Craig, are you alright? Is something wrong?" I asked, tapping his shoulder as he sat up. He didn't look like he'd had much sleep.

"Oh, its just my dad is a really bad individual, he's the reason we moved, he's back to his ways that got us into the messing in Philadelphia." He murmured, sniffling and putting his head back into his lap. I was confused, what could he possibly do to Craig?

"Craig, your dad is a really nice guy. What kind of severely bad could he possibly do to make you feel like... This?" I asked, one eyebrow up.

"Look, just stay away from him. I don't want him to hurt you like he hurts me, its sick and unexceptional. Don't go near him, just hi and bye, aight." he said, sternly and shaking his head.

"Uh, okay. What exactly do you mean he hurts you? What is he doing to you Craig?" I asked, getting worried by the minute.

"I can't explain it, here anyways. Meet me at my house tonight. Don't use the front door because tonight both of my parents will be home. Come up the outside stairs to my room and I'll show you." he explained, getting up as the bell rang.

"Come on, we gotta get to fifth period." he held his hand out and I grabbed it, throwing away my tray.
