Nico and Jason had been dating for three weeks; since the day Piper had broken up with Jason, rather. It had gone like this.

Jason and Piper had been in the Zeus cabin, visiting Camp Half-Blood. They had both been in the Zeus cabin because Piper had wanted to talk. It ended with Piper breaking up with him. Nico had sat on a bench around the hearth with a clear view of all of the cabins. In his free time, he enjoyed sitting here, with everyone and everything in his eyes. So when Piper had come out of the Zeus cabin, tears streaming down her face, he had been the first to see. After watching her go into the Athena cabin, probably seeking the comfort of Annabeth, he had walked into the Zeus cabin, worried for Jason.

He had found him sitting in a chair near the corner of the massive cabin, his elbows on his knees, running his hands through his golden hair. Small tears were the only thing that blemished his face.

"What's wrong Jace?" Nico asked, genuinely concerned.

"Piper dumped me," Jason said.

"Ah, she was no good for you anyway!" Nico had insisted.

"Why do you say that?" Jason inquired.

"Because no one in their right mind would break up with you, Superman," Nico replied.

"Uh, Neeks," Jason began, "how would you know how someone in their right mind thinks? Haha only kidding, but seriously, thanks man. I love you."

Jason was blushing immensely.

"That's a habit, sorry," Jason said, rushed and awkward.

"So you say 'I love you Nico Di Angelo' a lot?" Nico asked, raising one eyebrow and grinning.

"No," Jason said, "it's just that-"

"It's okay Jason because guess what?" Nico said.

"What?" Jason replied.

"I love you too."

This got Jason grinning ear to ear. He was looking back on it now. 20 years later, he still loved it just as much when Nico called him "Superman".
