Reader POV

"(Name)! Could you bring this to Levi's office for me? I need to dip out to the bathroom for a moment, thanks!" Hange said cheerfully and handed me a large stack of papers, likely from Erwin. I sighed and took them, seeing as I had no real choice in the matter as Hange barely let me get a grip on the pile before letting go and rushing off down the hall. I'd seen Corporal Levi from afar, but never really been to his office. I knew where it was because my squad leader Mike's office was right beside it. I shook my head as I watched Hange run and turn the corner at the end of the hall before beginning my walk to Levi's office.

I knocked on the door when I got there, waiting to be given permission to enter. "Name and business?" He called from inside, sounding rather tired and a bit annoyed but I suppose that was normal for him. "Cadet (Name), sir. Hange asked me to bring some papers for you." I stated plainly and entered the room when he gave a simple 'come in'. I walked right up to his desk that he sat behind and placed the large pile on the empty corner. He pushed his teacup across the desk toward me without looking up from the paperwork he was currently working on. "Sir?" I questioned and he clicked his tongue before speaking. "Go make me some more tea, brat. I can't do all this paperwork if I fall asleep, now can I?"

I tensed up at the harsh tone but quickly nodded and picked up the teacup to head off to the kitchens and make him some more tea. Of course, I was careful not to drop it on the way. I didn't want to get punished for breaking the Corporal Levi's teacup.

Without really knowing how he liked his tea, I made it to the best of my ability and very carefully brought the full teacup back to his office, setting it down on his desk. "I wasn't sure how you liked your tea so I left a couple sugar cubes on the saucer in case you wanted to sweeten it." I half mumbled to him as he finally looked up from the papers to look at his tea. "Thank you."

Now that I was surprised to hear. He really must be tired if the stoic Corporal Levi was actually thanking a cadet for doing something he'd ordered them to do in the first place. I awkwardly shifted my weight to my heels, trying not to stare at him as he placed a single cube of sugar into his tea and stirred it with the small spoon I'd provided as well.

He hadn't dismissed me, so I wasn't really sure if I should leave on my own or not. If I did leave and he needed me for something else then it would be rude. But then again, if I didn't leave and he didn't want me in here anymore then I was also being rude by remaining in his personal space and potentially distracting him from his important paperwork.

I was pulled from my thoughts when he cleared his throat and eyed me suspiciously. I must have been caught staring despite trying not to. "Ah, uh, would you maybe like some help with all that paperwork, sir?" He quirk ed an eyebrow and frowned, leaning back in his chair as he continued to eye me. "Excuse me?" He said, crossing his arms and I quickly saluted him, averting my eyes from his intense stare. "Well, I just thought that you sounded tired, and you already do so much for the regiment that it might be nice if someone helped you get the paperwork done so you could get some sleep instead of being up really late." My voice trailed off a little toward the end and now I felt even more awkward. Why had my big mouth gone and suggested I help him with his paperwork.

I heard him open a drawer in his desk and then stand from his chair. Only when he stood directly in front of me did I meet his eyes once more. And to my surprise he held out a pen for me to take, which I did. But when our fingers lightly brushed against each other we both froze and the pen dropped to the floor with a clatter.

I stood on thin air, floating above a rather horrific scene as it unfolded beneath me. Thick fog that I could barely see through that slowly cleared to reveal a field strewn with broken and battered soldiers. Some in pieces, some whole, but every one of them dead. There was blood everywhere, turning the puddles from the rain a murky brownish red color. My attention turned to the sound of a single set of hoof beats on the muddy ground. Levi rode a horse but it soon tripped over a dead soldier and tumbled to it's knees, sending Levi skidding in the mud.
