johnny clicked the button on the radio in the corner. it began playing a song jae had heard many times before at parties he'd been dragged to.
he looked at johnny, seeing him stare at the radio. when the boy had mentioned that his parents were away and taken him in, he didn't expect him to play music. he had cleaned the blood off of his lips and slipped him into a sweatshirt much too big for him, but this seemed odd.
"i didn't like the silence," he said gently, leaning up against the door and staring with hooded eyes and a barely detectable smile.
"that's okay," jae spoke, wringing his hands. he knew what the song was about. he was a virgin, not stupid. he felt like johnny had a lot more in mind than he had.
the boy pushed off the door and slowly walked closer to him, a single step at a time, each one echoing with a heartbeat in his throat. his breath picked up slightly and heat pooled uncomfortably in his stomach.
johnny's face was remarkably close to his but he looked down, avoiding his eyes. the boy's hands found his which were clenching and unclenching. the tips of his fingers gently lifted them so he could not wear them down from anxiety. his thumbs massaged gentle circles on the tops of his sore hands, removing the tension from them that had built up from all the writhing.
jae watched his face closely and saw how a small smile tugged at his lips. his eyes found him and he quickly looked away, avoiding the older's suffocating gaze.
"jae," he spoke. "look at me."
his eyes glanced back up at johnny's that bore deep within him, eating away at him like a predator in the wild. jae wanted him, but it was also the other way around. he didn't know what he wanted. he knew he shouldn't do this for fear of his parents loathing him forever. but he felt he'd already severed any ties with them.
"it's okay," johnny whispered, his breath fanning over his neck and face. he looked up at his eyes once more, tears pricking at them
"i don't know if i can do this, i've never done it before," he spoke, shuddering with worry. johnny took his biceps within his hands reassuringly.
"i'll show you," he whispered. jae hesitated a bit, remaining extremely indecisive, but something about the boy's dark eyes and the way he was looking at him—with so much care and gentleness—he knew johnny could be trusted. he nodded.
johnny's hands loosened their grip and slowly slid upwards, one resting on the base of his neck and one brushing a short strand of hair behind his ear. his eyes followed his hands, ensuring their correctness in the directions and ways they were traveling.
his breath caught as his fingers which lay at the base of his neck, moved up to gently hold his throat. he didn't tighten his grip, just kept him in place. the hand which had been pushing the hair behind his ear came below there to cup his jawline, the thumb brushing his cheekbone.
johnny's eyes still did not find him but rather watched his thumb as it came to gently brush across his bottom lip. the soft touch sent chills down his spine.
he leaned his face closer and brushed his lips with jae's. out of pure instinct, he pressed his lips back against the boy's for a moment before leaving a small space between them.
"johnny, i can't," he barely choked the words out. johnny's eyes searched his for a moment before pushing forward again. his lips caught jae's once more, this time with a different kind of passion. one that sent heat into his stomach even more than before, as if a fire had been set.
