It felt like another normal day at the DX. The girls flirted with me and giggled. Steve made jokes about the Soc's that didn't know a damn thing about their cars.
But there was still this tugging at my heart. I had officially lost all women that meant something to me. Mom, Sandy, and Kat...
There's just this surge of regret. Because I never told her how I truly felt. Then, maybe if I told her, she wouldn't have...
I shook my head and snapped out of it. Looking around, I saw three girls inside blushing and glancing at me. It honestly made me furious. They just think now that Sandy is out of the picture, that I'll just hop on the first thing I see.
I faced away from the girls and looked to the sky. The sun would be setting soon, then I could go home and help Ponyboy.
Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye I saw something familiar. This ... Golden brown hair that practically sparked in the light.
My heart stopped. Kat.
I dropped the oil covered rag to the ground and chased after her. Is this real?
Half way down the street I caught up with her and tapped her shoulder, everything inside me tingled.
She turned around, with a curious expression. "Yes?" She asked.
I stopped and took a step back. "Never mind... I thought you were someone else."
She wasn't anything like the Kat I knew. Her hair was tangled and dead, her skin reeked of cigarettes, bags under her eyes. She was awful.
I turned around and slowly walked back to the DX. It was about time for me to clock out. I headed up to the store and entered the room, the bell rung and echoed in my head.
I went up to my boss and "threw in the towel" for the day. Steve had already clocked out apparently, so I didn't have to wait up for him.
The walk home really made me think about what happened earlier. What I saw... It wasn't...that person. It was Kat. I know it. I looked at her pleanty of times. And that was her.
I finally made it to the house, avoiding everyone's good afternoon's. I went straight into my shared room with Ponyboy, and checked if he was still in his coma like state.
I pulled up the desk chair next to him and sighed. "Ponyboy... I think I'm going crazy"

FanfictionGreased Up 1 was about Katelyn Waters, and how she fell in love w/ Dallas Winston. In case people haven't read it, I won't spoil. But this is the second book, in Sodapops POV after everything happened.
