Taehyung tossed and turned restlessly in his bed. He faced directly upwards at the patterned wood planks holding the weight of Jimin. He needed some fresh air. He swivelled in his bed, sliding easily into his fluffy tiger slippers, and slid along the wooden floor. Just as he was about to open the door, something crossed his mind. He turned around smoothly, heading over to Jungkook. He peered over again, similar to the previous morning. He saw the same thing, his eyes were wide open, staring emptily ahead of him. Taehyung placed his hand on the boy's muscular shoulder, resting it there as he quietly whispered.
"You seem bothered. Do you want to join me for a walk outside, to clear our minds?"
The warm air hit the nape of Jungkook's neck, causing him to jump. He bolted his head around, his eyes full of fear, staring through Taehyung. Worried at the boys expression, he subconsciously jumped backwards. However, he swiftly reacted and slid his hand down to the tired boys back, gently rubbing it in a comforting manner. He hushed him, and reassured him that he was safe.
"Sh sh sh, it's just me. Taehyung, remember?" In due time, Jungkook came back round, his eyes brimming with tears. Feeling the warmth of Taehyung's hand against the small of his back emitted a homely feeling within him. He felt safe, for the first time in a while. He gulped, nodding to the elder towering above him, as he too slipped his bunny slippers on. The two departed from their dorm, shutting the door quietly behind them.
Despite their best attempts to not wake their sleeping roommates, Jimin was a light sleeper. He was awoken by the quiet creakes of Taehyung lifting off of their bunk bed. He had witnessed the moment the two boys shared and felt inclined to follow after them. He was Tae's best friend, so he wasn't doing anything wrong. Right?
They walked into the open air outside, the coldness hitting Jungkook immediately, causing him to shiver. Instinctively, Taehyung wrapped his hand around him, rubbing his arm in an attempt to warm him up. Jungkook smiled at this, sniffling as he tried to rub away his tears. As Taehyung caressed the boy's arm, he was taken aback by the youngers muscular build, but that wasn't what was important to him right now.
They walked in an awkward silence for a while, both staring at the stars above them. Taehyung lowered his gaze and looked ahead, realising they had reached the courtyard of the school, and stood in front of the mesmerizing Willow Tree. He tightened his grip around Jungkook's bicep, spinning him 90 degrees until they were face to face, he lowered his arm looking sorrowfully at the boy.
"Do you want to talk about what just happened? Or continue to walk in silence..whatever makes you comfortable" He carefully asked the boy facing him. Jungkook ignored this question, grabbing onto his hyung's wrist and leading him into the school. They weaved throughout the maze of hallways, this was increasingly difficult because of the darkness ahead of them, looming around every corner. Yet, Jungkook seemed to know the way, he led Taehyung directly to an unlocked door, and they began the ascent up multiple flights of stairs. Taehyung thought he heard quiet footsteps behind him but dismissed it as an evening draft. Eventually, the two reached the top, facing them was a dark door, with two large windows which allowed the beautiful moonlight to shine through. Jungkook let go of his arm, opening the door and making his way onto the well-lit roof. He leant against the railing at the edge, staring meaningfully at the moon. Taehyung followed close behind him, admiring the stunning view. It was clear this place held a lot of hidden meaning to Jungkook. The roof itself wasn't the most impressive, the view however, was sublime. The stars somehow looked bigger up here, even if that was astrologically impossible, and the view down below, on the repetitive windows all surrounding the solitary Blossom Tree was awe inspiring. As Taehyung's eyes admirably washed over the scenery in front of him, they stopped at the boy, who somehow managed to be the most flawless thing up here. The way the moonlight hit him caused an angelic silhouette to shine behind him.
After a few seconds, Taehyung followed Jungkook to the railing, placing one hand reassuringly on the nape of his neck. He stood silently, giving Jungkook time to gather the courage he needed. Taehyung's eyes fixated onto the boy stood next to him. So much had hit him in such small time, he barely had a chance to process these possible new feelings yet, but still he didn't feel overwhelmed at all. It almost felt right? His eyes analysed his features. Jungkook's eyes sparkled with the moonlight, and his soft skin was highlighted, almost glowing. He had a sense of extra-terrestrial beauty about him, and Taehyung melted for it. Jungkook sighed, catching the elder's attention as he attentively waiting for him to speak.
"I have insomnia. If you couldn't tell."
