"What were you doing? How long were you stood there? I deserve an answer" Jungkook blurted out. His face, too, going a pinkish shade. Taehyung just stood, frozen. He opened his mouth to attempt to explain but didn't want to feed his ego, so didn't say anything. Instead he profusely apologised, turning to leave immediately. Surprisingly, he felt a warm grasp around his tiny wrist, pulling him back. Jungkook stepped beside him, looking at him as he walked alongside his elder. Taehyung looked at him, a face full of confusion, and astonishment.
"We sleep in the same dorm, might as well walk together." Jungkook explained, shrugging.
For a small portion of the journey the boys were in silence. Eventually, it was broken by the beginning of a pleasant conversation. They spoke about their hobbies, subjects, joked about their dorm mates. Jungkook too this opportunity to ask again, why Taehyung fell into the room the way he did. He couldn't think of any logical excuses, so he just had to admit it.
"I was intrigued. You sounded really good..." Taehyung said, shying away at the last part. An ear to ear smile spread across Jungkook's face hearing this. He was quite self-conscious about his voice, so to hear this reassured him.
"Don't get too flattered though, ok? I'd hate to inflate your ego even more." Taehyung mocked, seeing the younger's smile. He hated to admit it, but his smile was contagious.
"What ego? I don't have an ego!" Jungkook whined, sarcastically. Gently shoving Taehyung.
It was a beautiful night, and the stars were shining extremely brightly. Star gazing had always been a fond hobby of Taehyung's, thus, the stars were magnets for his eyes. Jungkook noticed Taehyung's fondness, stopping in his path, this caused the other to stop, turning round arching his eyebrow slightly.
"What now?" Taehyung sighed.
"You like the stars, huh?" Jungkook replied, ignoring his question, looking up. Taehyung, again, noticed the boys strong and angular jawline.
"Yeah, it's always been a hobby of mine."
"Then let's lay, we have no rush." Before waiting for the other boys answer, he plopped himself down on the pavement, patting the space next to him, signalling him to join. Shrugging his shoulders, Taehyung decides to join him, what else does he have to do after all?
The two layed there for what could've been hours, staring at the stars and talking. This time they spoke about deeper things, like the meaning of life, what Jungkook's lyrics really meant to him and how he wrote them, and how Taehyung undertook acting to try and escape a life he wasn't contented living until recently. Taehyung occasionally pointing out constellations, like The Lost Pleiad, to the boy next to him. The two didn't feel the decreasing temperature, and weren't affected by the icy ground beneath them. They were enjoying each other's company, getting to know each other. Taehyung was getting increasingly comfortable with Jungkook, because of this, he accidentally blurted out,
"Why do you hop from person to person? Do you just not care about their feelings or what?"
Jungkook's eyes immediately turned towards Taehyung, hearing this. He was shocked, confused and hurt all at once. Sitting up, he asked,
"Excuse me? I don't hop between people, thank you very much. Why does it even matter to you anyways? You ignore me all the time and act like you hate me so...it's really none of your business. I just don't deal well with attachment." Taehyung followed suit, sitting up next to him, he too seemed shocked, but mostly apologetic.
"I'm sorry Jungkook, I didn't mean to piss you off or anything. Just forget I said anything. And I don't hate you, I'm actually really enjoying getting to know you." Taehyung said, trailing off at the end. Jungkook chuckled, choosing to ignore the previous question.
"Sorry I didn't quite catch that." Jungkook claimed, sarcastically.
"I said-"
Taehyung was about to repeat himself, gathering the courage to admit that he was wrong about him, before the heavens opened above, releasing a sea of rain upon the two. Staying sat, the two exchanged looks before bursting out in laughter. They speedily pushed themselves off the ground, racing each other back to the dorm.
As they ran, Taehyung looked to the side, capturing a glimpse of Jungkook's face. The only word he could describe it with is 'beautiful'.
