Bonfire became a tradition for us shifters, Billy would come and tell stories, food would be made beforehand and served, soccer game played and football. After the Bonfire, the elders would leave after the food was gathered up so Sue and the others could take it home.

I was at my place cooking. Emily and I got together and made a list of what we would cook. Then Sue told us whatever we didn't make she would. So I said I would make big things of taco lasagna, Lobster Shrimp Alfredo, and sloppy Joe's Mac n' Cheese.
Once I had everything cooked and ready to go I loaded up my car and locked up my house and headed to the bonfire.
I smiled and waved to everyone as I walked over to the tables that were full of food. I placed mine down and went and grabbed some other things I was bringing along. And put that with the food.
I walked over to Sam and hugged him
"Hey, bubby what's up?" I asked
" Nothing. was just informed that Jacob will be coming here" he answered
I nodded
"That is ok, I mean it will be something for him to get used to since it's a possibility of him shifting and all," I tell him
He nodded and kissed my forehead.
"I know but with Embry close to changing as well as Jacob and Quil there is no telling what will happen tonight"
"Whatever happens, happens right?"
He nodded then I walked off and chatted with the others and Billy.
Soon everyone that was gonna show did and we got the bonfire underway. The girls and I took care of the food and things while Sam and Jared lit the bonfire.

I was seated next to Jacob, my old childhood friend/crush.
"Wow you have changed so much since I last saw you Emerald," Jacob tells me
I turned and looked at Jacob. And my whole universe changed.
"I matured" I managed to speak after a few minutes
He laughs and I see Billy and Sam staring at us. Billy was happy Sam not so much.
"Wanna talk a walk with me?" I asked him
"Sure" he replied
We stood up and walked off
"So what do you think about the legends?" I asked as we were outta earshot of the others.
"It's just that, legends and stories" he replied
"what if it wasn't?" I asked
"What do you mean?"
'What if our ancestors could shift into wolves?"
"That isn't possible."
I looked at him
"It's not just stories jake, its all real, the shifting, the cold ones. all true" I tell him
"That is stories my dad told just to tell, it's like ghost stories," he said
I stopped walking and he walked a little bit then stopped and looked back at me.
"No Jake its not like ghost stories."
"What are you saying?"
"The Quileutes can shift. not the generation before us but this one here can and have" I explain
"Meaning?"
"Meaning that we shift into wolves, that there are vampires nearby and that we are protecting humans from them. though the ones around here that are residents in Forks are vegan vampires they hunt animals, we are still protecting humans, incase more vampires that hunt and kill humans appear."
He laughed and shook his head
"Sam has gotten to you."
"Leave my brother out of this Jacob, I am telling you the truth and you would have found out the hard way if I didn't Imprint on you."
He looks at me not saying a word, so I took that opportunity to explain to him everything.
"Show me"
I moved a good distance from him and shifted.
"believe her now?"
I looked over and seen Sam standing there with a simple dress for me.
He walks over and ties it to my front leg and nudges his head towards the woods. I go and shift back and get dressed before walking back out.
"Wow," Jacob said
"We think you are soon to shift" Sam informs him
"What?" he asked in shock
"It's in your blood, and with the vampires living nearby, you will possibly shift, but Embry is looking more likely too soon" I explained
