Grace's POV:

"Marcel!" I exclaim as I accidentally drop one of Michael's bags on his foot and run to Marcel.

"Ow!" Michael yells. "What was that for?"

"Sorry," I laugh and continue on my way.

"Hi, Grace," Marcel smiles. "I got everything you asked for."

"The plates, cups, napkins, plastic utensils, paper plates, pizza, straws, little umbrella thingies that you-" I start.

"I got everything," he laughs. "Don't worry."

"Perfect! I'll help you bring them into the kitchen," I say as I grab some bags from the car.

"Uh, did you...by any chance..make up your mind yet?" I ask while placing my bags on the kitchen table.

"About the adoption thing?" He asks.

I nod.

"Not yet. I'm trying, Grace, I really am, but you have to understand that this is a big decision for us," Marcel says. "I can't choose right away. It's driving me crazy, too, but it's...it's something that takes time."

"I understand, but I don't understand at the same time. What's so hard?" I ask.

"I don't know. It just is."

I should probably explain this. Marcel and I have been wanting a child ever since we got engaged, but we don't know whether to adopt or to have one ourself. I'm fine with either choice, but Marcel is very indecisive.

"Can we not talk about this now?" Marcel asks. "I just got home and I don't want to start off my day with a fight."

"But I need to know. I'm fine with either, but we've been engaged for, what? Two years? Isn't time for some type of change?" I say.

"I guess...maybe we can adopt?" He states.

"I don't believe that this decision is permanent. It never is," I chuckle.

"Look, Grace. I love you, and I will find a way to make you happy. Eventually I'll come to a decision and we'll be one big happy family," Marcel says as he pulls me in for a hug.

"I know, I know, but it's been a while. A really long while..."
