Chapter 2: The Duty of a Slayer

"What are you doing attacking innocent victims in a populated area? That is mindless..even for a demon like you." Michael asked. "I just wanted your attention by doing what angers you and your pitiful God...and also to have another rematch against you...to the death," Amon responded. Michael sighed and asked, "You seek to kill me again did you? When we first met, you were just a regular demon...". There was a flashback of Michael encountering Amon devouring an innocent victim during the Gold Rush and Michael attempted to stop Amon, but he escaped nearly when Michael was about to finish him off. Michael then looks at Amon's horns, "But I see now that you're a prince of Hell. That means your powers and skills increased when you received that power. And those menacing eyes. Nothing but wickedness and disgust that is stained on the Earth." The eyes that Amon and most demons have is called the Kyōki, the current form of the Kyōki is described as a violet pupil with a glowing, white pentagram without the circle surrounding the star. "Oh please. I have given this title by Lucifer himself. With this privilege that he gave me, I am certain that I will defeat you! Dog of the Covenant!". "Amon. I will ask this one final time. Surrender and repent for your sins, the Father-". Michael noticed a blade, nearly going to strike him. Michael dodged the demonic blade, but he had a small cut where his cheekbone. Amon then attempted to strike Michael with fast multiple ones aiming for head, shoulders, and legs. Michael goes around one of Amon's strikes and brutally punched him in the gut that made Amon spew out saliva and blood and then sends him a few meters away from Michael. "Even with those obscene powers, do you think you can defeat me?". Amon started to worry about Michael's improvement, he thought he was the same nearly two centuries ago. "You certainly have gotten stronger Michael...BUT WHAT WILL YOU DO IF I TAKE SOMEONE HOSTAGE?!". This shocked Michael and started to get serious. Then Amon sent a shockwave on the bridge causing it to shake and break apart. Michael started to worry and suddenly, he saw that the hostage was a small child sitting and crying in fear. Michael went after the child, but Amon tried to strike him by making clones of himself and attacked him all of the same time. The bridge was starting to collapse and Michael saw the kid starting to fall. Michael shouted in frustration, "OUT OF THE WAY!". He killed all the clones and badly injured Amon, and then Amon started to retreat, watching Michael trying to save the child. Michael was running toward the child, but the boy was falling towards the sea, Michael knew he could not save him with his regular speed. So then he decided to enhance his speed using some of his spiritual energy, showing a white, glowing aura surrounding him. In a dash, he grabbed the child and put him down at the end of the bridge, Amon was still retreating thinking to himself that he has to be stronger in order to beat Michael. In a moment, Michael was behind him which surprised Amon. "That was really arrogant of you, using a child to help you escape. You should not belong to this world," said Michael. "Is that so? Neither should the Covenant, you, and your beloved teacher Gabri-,". Michael then, with his sword, decapitated Amon in anger. Amon was dead. Michael tried to calm himself, so he did and decided to spit on his corpse and left. When he arrived at the end of the bridge, the boy thanked him for saving him. Michael was much obliged that he was safe. "Go with your parents now. They are waiting for you." Michael said. When Michael watched the boy was on his way to his parents, Michael smile, but in melancholy. He was aware that he was an orphan, but he did not know his past that well. After that session of thinking, he left the broken bridge, on his way home. Once the boy was out of Michael's sight, he transformed into Amon, he cleverly tricked Michael and escaped once again. Amon left to start increasing his demonic powers. Amon then said, "Once I am certain that I will surpass you, I will defeat you Michael. You bastard!".
