Opening the door, the glass instantly fell from his hands, meeting the cold surface of the ground, shattering into pieces as he came across a horrifying scene.

PRESENT MOMENT

Zachariah remained immobilized for what seemed like hours, disturbed by the sight before his eyes.

His room was illuminated, yet he felt as if darkness enclosed him, the sudden shift of the energy confined him. The whole situation screamed DANGER.
His mind kept on sending signals, urging his body to move, yet he was unable to flee the situation as he stood there, absorbing it in its entirety.

Finally, he walked into the room carefully, to not step on the scattered pieces of the glass and the spilled milk on the ground.
The floor was cold, dust and crumbs were clinging to his bare feet with each step taken. However, that didn't bother him as much as the familiar feeling that kept tugging at his gut, anxiety.

He stood at the center of the piece, facing the marked wall in front of him with wide eyes. He turned his head slowly to the left, fearing the sight as he prayed for another reality. But it wasn't the case.

The empty bed left no sign of Myriam, the greyish white sheets with visible blood stains on them, were thrown on the floor. That left him with the thought of his sister struggling, begging, crying out of fear, holding on the sheets so they won't take her. Yet, he didn't hear any of it! How come? She disappeared without him noticing.

"It's not like someone's going to come and take you off that bed without me noticing" as soon as he remembered the way he treated her earlier, his mind went round in a loop, replaying the scene over and over again, torturing him.

The thought of her clouded his thoughts, she warned him, she had an intuition but he refused to listen. At that moment guilt topped all emotions, he never felt that useless in his entire existence, he failed his mission as the protective big brother. He deserved whatever that was coming for him, but she didn't. Why her?

Bewildered, uncertain, suddenly his mind went blank, he had no idea of what to think or what to do anymore. He wanted to fight, find his sister, but he was completely frightened as the unknown awaited him. His chest tightened, a sensation of a burning feeling deep inside him began eating on his soul, urged him to scream in an attempt to ease the excruciating pain shredding his heart, but somehow he couldn't, why?

He turned his head again to face the wall, choosing to perceive and accept the situation as it was presented to him. A small sentence was written in red on it. Although it was a malformed phrase, it held enough threat for Zachariah to take it seriously and to sense the potential of the imminent danger that was on the way.

Written in blood, dripping on the bleak wall, it said "YOU IS DEAD"
