Code Blue Incident

For the past 4 years I have been undercover in a secondary school in England. I have been using my witch side to change my appearance in order to look like a student. It's a little exhausting using my powers for a whole school day but I manage by consuming more alcohol if I'm a human and blood as a vampire. However I have to keep it on the low so people don't get suspicious.

I am in school because they are becoming more dangerous as a result of school shooters. Their only goal is to create fear and we have information suggesting there will be an attack soon and that they know I'm undercover here. They don't know what I look like but for sure want to kill me. Because of this, the guys didn't want to leave my side. I made a compromise a while ago and they now stay in a near by house a few hundred meters away while I am here.

It's the first day of school and I'm posing as a year 11. The other year 11s are in an assembly with me. During the teacher's speech, I felt something was wrong. I didn't know what then but it was gonna be bad. I checked my phone for any messages but non had come through. I felt the teacher glare at me when she saw I had my phone out. God if she knew who I was she wouldn't be acting like that. That's the worse thing about this whole being undercover thing; having to do as the staff members say.

The hall fell silent after the Headteacher stopped talking. Footsteps in the nearby corridor were followed by a loud bang. I didn't think much of it until suddenly the hall doors swang open and everyone flinched at the crash. Out came a man dressed in all black. Black jacket, black mask, black trousers. Everything. He sprinted in shouting in a thick Scottish accent 'everybody get down'. Then came the shooting. The students scream and duck down on the ground for cover as I scan the area for anything that could help in this situation. I saw a smaller girl lay on the floor lifeless as I grab the gun tucked in my skirt.

I sat up, aimed and shot. The nasty crack sound echoes from where I hit him in the head as I stand up. My cover was blown so I let my real appearance reveal itself as the adrenaline started kicking in. Everyone remains on the floor in fear after I tell them to stay down. I could see the terror in everyone's eyes that lay sobbing as they keep their heads covered. I feel sorry for them. I remember what it's like to feel helpless and scared.

It was quiet. Too quiet. I push passed people to reach the aisle that took me down the steps to the front. I cautiously ran down with my gun still out and when I got to the girl I crouched down to feel her neck. 'Dead' I said to myself as I stood again. I grabbed my phone, dialled Jin's number and put it on speaker phone so I could check the girl once again. It's rare but I have mistaken someone for dead before.

He picked up and immediately asked 'what's wrong baby? You should be in the assembly.' He knew something was wrong because he is the one I call when I'm worried. I replied 'code blue, school shooter.' I took my voice to a whisper when more noice erupted in the halls. 'One dead, the shooter is down too, but I think there are more coming.' 'Love stay where you are' I hear coming from the phone. 'Wait for back up. We will be there soon!' As much as I wanted to do what he said, there wasn't time to wait. I replied with 'Jin, I can't wait. They will be here before you. *chuckling* Besides I missed the excitement of shooting random intruders' I hung up before he could say anything and I slowly made my way to the doors with my gun in-front of me. Oh shit!..
