Troian's POV

I pulled my suitcase out of my closet and set it on my bed. I started packing my clothing. I started packing my bathroom things. I started packing things that'll keep me busy for no reason. A few minutes later, Emerson walks in.

"There she is," She said, laughing. "You done packing?"

"I'm just about done," I said, smiling to myself.

"I can't believe you're on the X-Factor," She said.

"Don't be so happy," I said. "I may not even make it to the next round. I may be kicked off after boot camp."

"Don't say that! I have faith in you," Emerson said.

"No, you don't," I said. "What would happen if I lose or get kicked off after boot camp?"

"I'll always have faith in you, Troian," Emerson said. "It doesn't matter if you lose or not, I'll believe in you. Always."

"I just," I said. "I don't know. I've been brought down so many fucking times, that I don't even know what it feels to stand up and not be knocked down."

"It'll happen," Emerson said.

"How?" I asked. "How could you possibly know?"

"Because I've seen it," Emerson said.

"You've seen it from someone else!" I said. "Someone that's not me! This is something I want to do my whole life and it'll get ruined because I'm scared to fight."

"You don't need to," Emerson said.

"Need to what? Fight?" I asked. "Well, of course I'm going to fight, Emerson! I'm going to fight for what I believe in! For what I love! And if you don't think so, you're just like them! People who've doubted me. People who've brought me down. And if you don't want that, sucks to suck."

"Troian," Emerson said. "I d-"

"Just go," I said.

She sighed deeply and walked out of the room. She shut the door behind her and I walked towards the window. I looked through the glass and thought through.

My life is such a mess. My sister thinks that. People at school think that. Hell, my parents probably think that. And I do to. I hate the person I've became and that's all because of them. The bullies. They've told me so many horrible things, it hit me and I realized they were true.

They won. I lost.

The next morning, my alarm clock goes off. I changed and carried my luggage down the stairs.

"You excited?" Mom asked.

I smiled and nodded. I handed my dad my luggage and he carried it outside. I are breakfast, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair. I followed everyone outside. We pulled up to the airport.

"So I'm guessing this is goodbye?" I asked.

They nodded. I gave them hugs and watched them walk off. I grab my luggage and started walking towards the terminal.

And when I come back, I'll win and they'll lose.
