Dave was on his last night of tour and he was coming back to New York. I haven't really talked to him in about a month . I've recently started talking to a guy name Raheem, we met at the bodega a couple weeks back. We went to lunch once and we actually hit it off every since. Some girl has been posting pictures of her and Dave on Instagram named Journey . I'm guess they are an item that's why we haven't talked much .

I looked down at my phone to see Raheem calling but I had to decline it because I had to go see about Ms Ethel.

"Hey Ms Ethel , how you feeling today ?" I said getting my item ready to do her daily checkup and give her her meds.

"I'm doing good , but I should be asking how you are since I haven't heard my Dave talk about you here lately ." I sighed because I knew this was coming , if no one was rooting for us to be together Ms Ethel definitely did.

"I know I haven't really talked to him , he kinda pushed me away because he didn't want us to be close with him being on tour and stuff , his words not mine." She shook her head .

"That boy is truly like his grandad, when we first met he was on the road playing the saxophone for the Temptations and I was his biggest fan , but he told me that he knew I couldn't handle the road life so we shouldnt be together , honey I told him either we be together or nothing at all ." I looked up at her.

"And what did he say after that ?"

"50 years later I still remain Mrs Ethel East , go after what you want , my grandson just has a hard head and scared of love he's been through a lot in his life and he just honestly needs someone to hold him down."

I finished up her check up and let her get some rest and sent Dave a text : meet up when you get home ?

I'm getting my man back .
