There is something I've learned recently
And you should probably, learn it too.
It's that,
You can't love someone, into loving you.
And I know you're thinking,
"I'll be the exception!"
You won't be.
Take your reservations; forget them.
Amazingly,
Astoundingly,
Surprisingly,
People are selfish and where that stems from?
A lack of self dependency.
I'm so very sorry.
I know it hurts, but, no matter how many compliments you speak,
No matter how many embraces you keep,
There is no technique
that will make your love,
convince someone else to love you,
unless they want to.
And this is the most painful part,
Most of the time, they'll give up,
They'll break your heart,
And you'll feel like your love,
Was not enough.
But you have to believe me when I say,
It's not your fault.
Everyday I see her and think
"Didn't I do enough?"
No.
I did more than enough but honestly,
I'm just not what she's needs.
That is something,
we need to learn to be okay with.
Everyone needs something, or someone,
But no one knows where that something,
Or someone,
Will come from.
So as she goes on, with people closer than me,
More of what she needs than me,
Even though it hurts so badly,
She's happy.
I cannot love her into loving me,
It's simply not a possibility.
And accepting that is going to hurt,
But it's what I need.
