A week had passed and Jaemin had finally gotten into the swing of the new year. He started working on his application to all of his colleges. Jaemin was applying to the official school of the Sweet kingdom as well as the official school of the Fishy kingdom, and of course he had applied to the National college of Taste which was scheduled to officially open one year after Jaemin graduated. It was under works and was said to accept students from all kingdoms and had no official affiliation to any kingdom. It was the first time in history something like that would happen, and Jaemin definitely wanted a part of it. Jaemin would have to figure out something to do for a year if he got accepted there. He always wanted to visit the Fishy kingdom and either do some service work there, or live as a fisher. So his current plan was to get accepted into his top choice college, go live in the fishy kingdom for a while, then go to college. What could go wrong?

Of course Jaemins parents didn't know anything about him applying to any non-sweet college. They would kill him if they found out.

"Jaemin honey, dinner!"

Speak of the devil. Jaemin sighed and set down his pencil before walking downstairs for dinner with his parents.

"Thanks mom." Jaemin said as he sat down and started eating his food. He hoped this would be a quiet dinner with his family where no one bothered him about his personal life, but he was wrong.

"So how is life with those new Bitters running around? I hear they get into fights regularly I just hope they aren't giving you any trouble." Jaemins mom said as she stabbed her food with her fork.

"No trouble mom."

"Good. It'd better stay that way too. I don't want you having anything to do with those Bitters. Stay as far away from them as you possibly can Jaemin, I mean it. I won't have my son getting into trouble for the first time in his senior year."

"Yes mom." Jaemin simply replied. He hoped the conversation would just end off there but his mom clearly had other plans.

"It really is shameful of that Principal of yours to go around inviting people from all the kingdoms inside that school like its a whole zoo! I can't believe he would really think of an idea like inviting Bitters there after the Sours were barely successful."

"Maybe having Bitters around would be useful in all this sweet."Jaemins dad said with his mouth full.

"I wouldn't be too sure about that." Was all his mother said before she turned her full attention to her plate and Jaemin finally got the silence he wanted so he could finish his meal and go back to studying.

The next day Jaemin sulked into his history class. He had no friends in that class so he just walked to his seat plopped down, whipped out his phone, and waited for class to start. He didn't notice the teacher had walked in already and almost got caught using his phone in class. Luckily, he managed to hide it before the teacher could notice.

"Okay, class I know you feel as if you just got back into the swing of things but we are bringing another student into our class. He is a Bitter so I expect you all to treat him very nicely."

The rest of the class glanced behind them at the boy who was sitting in the back of the classroom. Lee Felix. He was a Bitter and it was clear from the vibes he gave off that he was already done with Sweet people and was thrilled to have another Bitter join them. The teacher seemed to catch wind of this.

"Alright Jeno why don't you come on in. Please introduce yourself quickly then you can go sit there by Seungmin."

Felix scowled deeply. The rest of the class assumed it was because he was not allowed to sit with another Bitter but that was not the truth. The truth was that Felix disliked Jeno. Not because Jeno had ever done anything to directly hurt him but because of two main reasons. The first was that he was friends with that little punk Jisung who always seemed to make Felix look like an idiot in front of his friends. The second was that Jeno didn't seem to be getting as much resistance from the Sweets as Felix was. Hell, Felix even swore he spotted Jeno having a nice conversation with his partner Yeri. A girl who looked at Felix with pure disgust. As far as Felix was concerned, Jeno was a traitor to his kind. Fraternizing with the enemy, disgusting.
