jiyoung let jaehee hang out with her and mary because both girls felt bad that jaehee didn't have anyone to hang out with. plus, jaehee was following jiyoung around like a lost puppy.

mary didn't really care. she was texting or facetiming bambi whenever she got the chance because bambi was having a terrible day and was, at one point, crying in a bathroom stall because mary and jiyoung weren't there to help her feel better.

"can we talk when we get back to the hotel?" jiyoung asked jaehee as they walked out to the bus. it was going to take about 40 minutes to get to the hotel so jiyoung would have time to make sure she would say everything the right way and jaehee would have time to worry about what jiyoung might want to tell her.

when they got to their hotel room, they sat on the bed and jiyoung was ready to talk.

"why are you still friends with yumi after all of the bad stuff she did and said to bambi?"

"what did she do to bambi?" jaehee asked and jiyoung thought she was joking until she looked at her face. jaehee really didn't know.

"you don't know?"

"know what? bambi was the one who broke up with yumi,"

"yumi always made fun of bambi's english, and mader her feel stupid. she broke bambi's phone. she cheated on bambi, jaehee. we walked in on her making out with another girl."

jaehee was shocked. her "best friend" had told her that bambi just didn't want to be in a relationship anymore, and of course jaehee believed her, she had no reason not to.

"i... i'll talk to yumi. i really didn't know. i hate when people cheat. she broke bambi's phone?"

jiyoung explained what had happened. she still remember it perfectly because she watched it happen and then had to console her best friend who thought she was a bad person but didn't even know why.

jiyoung went to shower after she was done talking because it made her upset thinking about how much yumi hurt bambi. but she was sure that mary was probably texting bambi, so she didn't want to call and interrupt them.

when jinyoung got out of the shower, she could hear jaehee talking to yumi and she didn't sound happy.

"i'm done talking about this, yumi. i'll talk to you when we get back," jaehee said and hung up. she jumped when she realized that jiyoung was out of the shower and had been watching her. "i'll shower."

jiyoung nodded and laid down. she had a lot to think about before jaehee got done in the shower. the main reason she didn't like jaehee turned out to not even be true.

jaehee got out of the shower fifteen minutes later and sits on the bed on the opposite side from where jiyoung was laying.

"i guess i know why you really don't like me," jaehee said, drying her hair with the towel she used.

jiyoung pressed her lips together, forming a line because she had no clue what to say. that really was the only reason she had to not like jaehee.

"maybe we can get to know each other, instead of just being side characters to bambi and yumi," jaehee said, holding her hand out to jiyoung and shaking her hand when jiyoung complied and did the same, "i'm jaehee lim."

"i'm jiyoung park," she said with a giggle because she felt ridiculous but she liked the idea, "nice to meet you, jaehee."

despite getting comfy in bed, the girls spent hours talking to each other and actually getting to know each other. as different as the two looked, they had a lot in common. their our love of reading led a lot of conversations as they talked about their favorite books but those led to conversations about themselves.

jiyoung felt asleep in the middle of one of their conversations but jaehee didn't mind because jiyoung was really cute when she was asleep. not that she wasn't really cute all of the time, because she was. her plum lips were just barley open and her breathing was steady, which in reality wasn't very different from normal because jiyoung was pretty good at seeming calm and collected.

jaehee pushed some hair out of jinyoung's face before she turned the light off and laid down. she had to figure stuff out with yumi.
