Leigh's P.O.V.

The week seemed to go by rather quickly. School work was a breeze, which gave me more free time than usual. The free time consisted of sitting out back enjoying the slight breeze from the autumn weather. Today it was a bit chillier than normal so my time outside was cut shorter.

I walked in to the house, getting enveloped in a warm hug from the heat coming from the kitchen. Following the warmth and scent that was radiating I saw mom was making brownies.

"Hey mom. Why are you making brownies? Are we having those for dinner?"

"Huh? No. These are for after. Dinner's over there cooling." Sitting on the counter was a big pot of chili.

"Is it cool enough to eat? There's a football game that starts soon, and I don't feel like standing in the long lines at the concessions."

"Yeah sure go ahead."

I grabbed a bowl from the cabinet, a spoon from the drawer, and scooped out a good amount. After eating and rinsing out my bowl I went upstairs and got ready.

Then I changed out of my sweater and leggings in to jeans and a school shirt. Ryder gave me his sweatshirt today at school, so I slipped that on over my head. The scent of his cologne protruding in to the air. Putting on my combat boots, I grabbed my phone, some cash, car keys, and headed downstairs. On my way out the door I went in the coat closet, and grabbed a pair of gloves, and a headband in case it got cold.

"See you later mom!" I yelled exiting the house. Not waiting to hear her reply I got in my car, and headed to school.

When I was about to turn in to the school parking lot, I got a text from Ryder.

Ryder: Meet me by the bleachers before the game starts. Curiosity took over as I pulled in to a parking spot, and started walking to the gate.

Finally when it was my turn at the ticket booth, I paid the two dollars and got my hand stamped. Before I walked around like an lost puppy trying to find Ryder, I decided to scan the area first. Easily spotting him by the bottom of the bleachers. The white number 30 standing out against the vibrant red jersey. I checked the time on my phone, we had about 10 minutes before the game started.

"Hey there stranger." He said with a grin on his face.

"What do you want to talk about?"

"You look good in that. You should wear it more often."

"Trying to avoid my question I see."

"No. I just thought I'd give you a compliment. What's wrong with that? I was being completely serious by the way."

"What are you getting at Ryder? You've never been this nice to me. Not since we were kids."

"Nothing. My sweatshirt just looks good on you."

"Thank you. Even though it is huge on me. Why did you have to get one so big."

"I didn't order it. Coach did. Blame him."

"I could, but blaming you is more fun." A smirk forming on my already red face.

"There's the Leigh I've always known. It just took a while to bring her out."

"What are you talking about? I've always been here."

"Not about a month ago you weren't. You were mean and rude to me."

"I had my guard up, but since we started talking, I've taken it down. Because you're not as much of a jerk like I thought you had become."

"Well that was cute. For those reasons it's exactly why you should never judge someone until you get to know them."
