A little over a year had passed since the Baltimore incident and the deal with Ichiro Moriyama. Life had been surprisingly 'normal' for Neil, well, at least his kind of normal.

He had fallen into a routine, early morning runs, going to his classes and being with the Foxes. And later on, practices for Exy. All of this, from the moment he wakes in the morning until his head hits his pillow and he goes to sleep, has become his normal.

And then there was Andrew. He and Andrew, had made some leaps of progress for their ' this' , for what they had did not have a label. It just was. Andrew had become a little more open and expressive with him and even more... affectionate. Well, in the ways Andrew showed he cared without actually saying it. Although, there were times where Andrew said things to Neil that seemed to have an underlay of affection and Neil could read it in his eyes.

The progress of Andrew's growth was mostly thanks to Betsy in Neil's eyes. Though, Neil had begrudgingly accepted a few sessions with Betsy after Andrew brought it up. And when they discussed Andrew in one of them, Neil got the feeling that Betsy believed it was partly because of Neil that Andrew had made such progress. And Neil could tell Betsy had a proud look in her eyes over Andrew's growth.

Neil and Andrew would probably never be 'okay' or 'normal', the things they went through had already left their scars, but they could heal in their own ways and have their own brand of normal, even with their past trauma, baggage never far behind them.

It was a bit surprising, Andrew's growth and openness with Neil. Neil never got tired of the feeling of Andrew's body beside his when they lie together after sex, or even the cuddles sometimes ( yes, there were cuddles ) and Andrew would card his fingers through Neil's hair and let Neil rest his head above his heart and Neil would bask in the attention silently before getting out of bed to do his early morning runs.

Matt and Renee sometimes joined him for early morning runs in their new routine with him. Matt had become a best friend and after spending some time with Renee, Neil and Renee had become closer friends. Dan and Allison tried to get Neil to discuss his sex life and loved to tease him about it in private when they hung out together.

Kevin was still Kevin and Neil and Andrew sometimes joined him for extra practice. Neil's friendship with Kevin was better but there was still a wall between them and Neil wasn't sure they could ever break down.

Aaron still seemed to harbor intense dislike for Neil's presence in Andrew's life and his and Nicky's life. Neil had also grown closer to Nicky, and Nicky was a great friend - funny and caring - when he wasn't trying to be overboard. Neil also without even saying it allowed, the Foxes were his family. Even Aaron. He would do anything for them.

Spring would start tomorrow and classes had already ended for the day.

Neil and the Foxes would have a two week break from classes but Neil was sure Kevin would still be pushing for them to keep up practice until everyone cornered him into letting them take it easy.

Neil snickered until a soft wall of white smacked him in the face. Neil immediately grabbed the pillow and glared at the person who threw it.

He heard the other Foxes laugh, Nicky hid behind Aaron with a sheepish grin.

They all gathered to have a movie night.

Andrew was sitting next to Neil on the couch with a bored expression and eating a pack of M&M candy.

"Come on! Let's get this movie started!" Dan and Allison, and Renee sat next to each other on bean bags they had just recently bought. Matt came from the kitchen with popcorn in hand and settled in front of the couch. Kevin sat scowling to Andrew's right, grumbling about exy practice under his breath.

Nicky and Aaron were chatting on the other couch.

Dan had picked the movie, some horror movie Neil had never seen.
