I was walking back from school to my apartment, my parents called telling me to come to my childhood home...
I haven't been there in weeks, please tell me it's good news I say as I turn into the other road , I clutched my shoulder bag,
When I was 18 I moved away from my parents house and got my own apartment, because it was closer to school and gave me more alone time to post on YouTube.
I decided to take a cab to get there faster..
When I got there I used my keys and entered, my parents were on the couch talking, they sat pretty close and were kind of comforting each other..
Isn't a divorce so it's not something bad.. I hope so.
" Y/N darling we missed you so much!" My mum said
" Mum we all had dinner together yesterday.." I said raising my eyebrows
She didn't say a thing just pulled me into a hug, so did my dad..
"Sit down, we have bad news." My dad said
Please don't be getting divorced
" Honey, we're not getting divorced." My mum said
" Wait you heard me?"
" No we are your parents I can read you." She smiles softly
I sigh and look down and play with my fingers
"Okay...um uh .. I don't how to tell you this but uh-
My mom spoke too slowly so my dad finished with the news which made my heart stop
"Your mum has breast cancer, stage 2."
" W- what?" I ask stammering before I blink to make the tears go away
"Honey.." my mom said her voice cracking as she hugged me
"Mom.. are you going to live?"
" Yes honey... But your dad and I are going to Canada for the treatment."
" Should I come with you?"
" No, your whole career is here, you are not coming with us we will be there for months.. but you can visit?" My dad said
I wipe my tears and stand up
"Can I come over later?" I ask
" Sure you can stay if you want to?" She asks
"No I need to go." I say as I run out
I hail a taxi and give him my address
I get home dropping my bags and lean against my door crying,
I need someone , someone who understands me, three names come up to my head just one stands out...
I immediately called it
Him: Hey beautiful
His voice immediately makes my day a little better
You: Can y- you come over?
Him: are you okay?
You: I just really need your hug
Him: I am coming okay? Wait for me? Do you need anything? Chocolates or a blanket
You: I just need you
Him: I am coming then as fast as possible
You: okay see you then
I change from my clothes and get into short and a Gray's yellow sweatshirt,
When I come back to grab a water
I hear keys jingle and loud and worried knock on the door
I open the door to see Gray at the door , I immediately jump into his arms crying into his chest, he places his hand underneath my thighs pulling me up and closing the door he rubs my back and lets me cry it out
" Shh... Baby... Come on... Let it all out.." He says placing me on the couch and he lays us down together
" This is not fair." I mumbled
He looks at me
" I just got my life on track and here it's back dropping on top of me." I sniffle
He rubs my back encouraging me to continue
" Gray my m-mom has breast cancer, stage 2." I say
His mouth widen as he shakily says
"Y/M/N?"
I nod as I begin crying again, he immediately pulls me closer rubbing my back, after two minutes of sobbing into his chest I pull away, wiping his shirt in attempt to dry it,
"it's okay," He said pulling my hands away from his shirt
"So what are they doing about treatment?" He asked
"They are going to Canada, but t-they said I shouldn't go with them because my career is here and t-they s-said I-I can visit b-but I-i don't want t-
Grayson stopped me from saying anything else as he placed his large hand on my cheek
"Baby, your parents are right, you need to stay here, but I swear you will go visit her as much as you want and if you want I'll come with you, just now you have to be there for her not necessarily be there, just make her proud by supporting her and being the woman she wants you to be." He said staring intensely into my eyes make my stomach do somersaults, my heart squeezing and my mind to start whirling.
I nod taking deep breath and cuddling into his neck,
" You want to talk to them?"
" No I'll go over tomorrow." I said wrapping my legs around his torso
After a moment of silence
"I called you yesterday asking you if you know where this sweatshirt was and you said you haven't seen it," He says in a serious way
"Well you left it in my property." I said
Time skip
You had fallen asleep on the couch, so Grayson picked you up and put you to bed, he got in next to you, kissed your cheek and said
"I am one call away."
