Hindi ako sigurado kung tama ang sinabi ni Freya na he's asking for a date. But this time, i will let myself assume. Wala namang masama hindi ba? Four years akong nakatanaw lang sakanya sa malayo, siguro it wont be too much if i give myself a favor, right?
Tinulungan ako ni Freya mag prepare. She even slept here last night para damayan ako sa kasiyahan ko.
"Dont dress up too much, sa isang café lang naman kayo magkikita. Just wear jeans and tshirt"
Pero hindi ba sobrang simple naman? Is that really okay? What if i look plain and stupid? Whatever, i'll just wear midwaist shorts and an oversized shirt.
Hindi ako mapakali sa paghihintay na mag 6pm. I've never been this excited na umalis ng bahay. I never have too much friends, since i was 15, Freya is the only friend i have and she's enough for me, so obviously i dont have social activities like partying and stuffs. Its always school—house—Freya kind of routine. But im contented with that, its peaceful. I dont know how to deal with the excitement, sa kakaisip ko ay hindi ko namalayang nakatulog ako..
I woke up because my phone keeps ringing. I answered it because it's Freya.
"Nike where are you?" May kaunting pagpapanic akong narinig sa boses nya
"I just woke up. What's up Freya?" I asked still half asleep. Bahagya kong kinusot ang mga mata ko at unti unting sinasanay ang paningin sa liwanag.
"You dumb girl! It's 7:30pm already! Elixir's waiting for you at the Café for an hour and a half!"
Oh god! I quickly ended the call, got up from the bed and fixed myself very fast. Dali dali akong nagdrive patungong Luna Café. Ng makarating ako, Inikot ko ang paningin sa kabuuan ng Café, pero wala akong makitang bakas ni Elixir kahit anino. Sa tingin ko, umuwi na siya. Or maybe he wasn't even here in the first place.
Malungkot akong lumabas ng Café at matamlay na nagtungo sa kotse ko. Who am i kidding, right? I assumed things that i know is impossible to happen And im so dumb to fall asleep sa kaorasan na dapat magkikita kami!
"Aren't you supposed to be here an hour and a half ago?"
Natigilan ako sa boses na narinig ko. Agad akong nag angat ng tingin sa lalaking prenteng naka upo sa hood ng sasakyan ko, his arms were in front of his chest at salubong ang kilay nya.
"You're still here Elixir?" Wala sa sarili kong tanong
"Why wouldnt i be here?" Naghahamon nyang tanong.
"Because im late??? You're not supposed to wait for someone who's late for over an hour"
"Who said i waited for you? I just finished eating dinner" masungit nyang tugon. Napangiti na lamang ako, this is better, iyong sungitan nya ako kesa doon sa nakatanaw lamang ako sa malayo.
"Im sorry, i fell asleep"
He rolled his eyes at what i've said. What??? He doesnt believe me or he just dont care?? Sungit.
"Let's just go. I dont wanna hear your lame excuses"
He brought his own car, but we decided to just bring my jeep rubicon. He called someone to pick up his car, saglit na hinintay namen ang kukuha sa sasakyan niya at saka nagpasyang umalis and since i dont know where we're going i let him drive.
"I thought we're going to just have coffee there at Luna. Saan ba tayo pupunta?"
Is this even a date?
"Sa sobrang tagal mo dumating, i had change of plans" masungit nya paring sagot.
"So you really waited, huh?" Pang aasar ko sakanya. Hindi nya ako sinagot bagkus nilingon nya ako saglit at sinamaan ng tingin atsaka ibinalik muli ang atensyon sa daan. I chuckled, he's so cute kahit palaging ang sungit nya.
I dont know how im acting normal at this moment. My inner self is already screaming and trembling. My secret crush for 4 years is currently driving my car after waiting for me for an hour and a half. One of my daydreams are finally happening! How the freak am i acting so calm.
After 15minutes of us driving in silence. We arrived at Rosima. Its a high class sports bar, which is popular to the students of our university. I came here alone sometimes just to kill time. Im quite fond of billiards and bowling.
"Oh, i miss this place. Ang tagal ko na ring hindi nakakapunta rito" i said to myself.
"What do you wanna eat?" Tanong ni Elixir sabay abot sa aken ng menu.
"Just a berry smoothy and a burger" i ate too much kanina, kaya siguro ako nakatulog din dahil sa sobrang kabusugan so a smoothy and a burger is enough to eat tonight.
"Let's go inside. I already made a reservation for our table" He said after he finished ordering our food. He put his hand at my back and guided me to our reserved room.
I dont know why, but its not crowded here tonight even if its saturday. Kami palang halos ang laman ng sports area. Sa billiard section kami dumiretso. Mayroon kaming sariling kwarto which has transparent door but its sound proof, inside our room mayroong isang billiard table, a small table and also a big couch. The room is quite big for the two of us.
Maya maya pa'y dumating na ang order ko with a wine. I guess Elixir wanted to drink.
"Hurry up, let's play" Saad niya habang hindi ako nililingon at inaayos sa billiard table ang mga bola.
"I dont know how to play" sagot ko. Hindi ko alam kung bakit itinanggi ko ang kaalaman na marunong ako maglaro nito. Pero hindi niya naman malalaman na marunong talaga ako kung hindi ko sasabih—
"Dont fool me Nicholas Ken. I saw you here often. I even watched you play"
