"So I guess you really do everything my mom says huh?" Jian Yi was currently sitting in his mom's car on the way to see his cousin at the top city hospital, it felt like an age since he had actually laid eyes on that black haired fiend. Yi's ever present white haired goon was acting as personal chauffeur today.
"She's the boss. I follow her." Brother Qiu drove calmly, nothing like his mom at all, she was always shouting and leaned on her horn which made for a very fucking stressful journey.
"What about my....father, are you still loyal to him too?" Jian Yi swallowed because he wasn't ready to talk about his father yet, it made him want to hurl.
"I am hers. Your father may have been the one to start this sentry duty of mine, but you and your mother are mine to protect, my loyalty does not change even if your father is......missing." Brother Qiu always seemed to choose his reply carefully, like he was constantly mulling over every word with a fine tooth comb.
"So how can I trust you? How come I got kidnapped.....again? Are you really a bodyguard? Because so far you suck." Jian Yi tutted and rolled his eyes.
The car screeched to a halt and Brother Qiu sat in silence.
"Umm..." Jian Yi laughed nervously. Qiu did know he was joking right?
"Get out." The man spoke, but this time you could hear the exasperation in his voice.
"But....!" It was seriously freezing out there. Was Brother Qiu crazy?
"No buts, out." The white haired man tapped his fingers in an impatient rhythm.
"It's raining!" This time Jian Yi wailed loudly, could nobody take a joke these days? He was so misunderstood.
"Fuck, just be quiet will you! I have to park the car, the entrance to the hospital is over there." Qiu indicated with his head at a huge building across the busy street. "See you there he's in room XX ward XX."
Qiu waited and waited and waited.
"Okay." Jian Yi got out and the cold rain slide down the back of his scarf, making him shiver. As soon as the door shut, Brother Qiu screamed off and Yi jogged across the road when the crossing light turned green. Why hadn't he learned over the years not to fuck with Brother Qiu? He had no sense of humour at all.
Jian Yi was apprehensive.
What if He Tian didn't want to see him?
What if He Tian fucking hated his face and couldn't look at it anymore?
What would Jian Yi do if his only cousin despised him?
It was messed up, thanks to his shitty dad he would never be able to look at his cousin the same way, never be able to look at him with anything other than sympathy.
When Jian Yi was almost raped, He Tian was the first person who rescued him, who called Xixi to the hospital, who made sure the police had all the evidence they needed, was the first person to cry for him (if Mo Guan Shan's version of events were anything to go by). He wanted to be strong, but He Tian had been through something....awful. Yi was probably the best person to go to see him first, he knew exactly how his cousin felt. His mom may have suggested he come, but he had already asked Brother Qiu to take him.
Guan Shan messaged him early this morning as he lay in his plush and empty hotel bed.
Guan Shan: Last night we told Tian about everything.
JIAN YI: Shit isn't it too soon? Won't it be better to leave it for a while?
Guan Shan: It's not like I wanted to do it.
