Chapter Forty Two - Adversity is a Gift

Several months later......

He Tian sat stiffly on a hard chair in the XX University of Beijing hall, taking his entrance exam. His body still fucking ached like a bastard, but here he was. He Tian wasn't alone, three rows over he could see Jian Yi, and near the front sat Zhan Zheng Xi, who was still furiously writing on his answer sheet. He Tian was finished. Jian Yi was looking off into space, his pencil absently taping his lip. How had they made it here...all of them....together? Fucks knows. Guess the saying was true: 'There is no greater education than adversity'.

So does everyone get to have a 'Happily Ever After'? He Tian had been contemplating this for about five minutes now.

Did the people in this room deserve it?

His Uncle didn't. After a lengthy trial spanning months, Mr Jian was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was ostracised by the new triad organisation (under the command of Jian Yi's mom and He Tian's Dad) and any privileges he once had or wielded were gone. The judge couldn't be bribed, in fact he had been intimidated by Triads before, and this time round he planned on punishing Mr Jian for every offence the police arrested him for. XX Prison was chosen, Qiu told He Tian that a shit ton of ex-cops were housed in the same wing as the criminal boss. Tian was pretty sure they would make his uncle's life a living nightmare. His uncle was a sexual predator and a peodophile, lower than the low. A piece of deviant shit in the eyes of the prison populace, if he survived a year it would be too long.

"Good riddance, your hatred is not welcome here." He Tian mumbled this under his breath like the evil ghost of his Uncle still haunted him, even in this safe haven.

He Tian and He Cheng were currently residing in tiny police protection houses. Long gone were their swanky, expensive apartments. His dad had left them an excruciating quantity of money each, so they could live comfortably, forever separated from the Triad. They were rich, but lived VERY humbly. Think of that line from Aladdin where the Gene says 'Phenomenal Cosmic Powers! Eeety Biiiity living space.' That's the rich He Brother's life at the moment and they wouldn't change and thing.

The exam regulator called time on the exams and that was it. Their fates were sealed.

Jian Yi and Zhan Zheng Xi walked over to where He Tian sat still.

"You need any help getting up?" Jian Yi looked concerned but his eyes twinkled. Little shit would never change.

"Fuck off." He Tian hauled himself up under his own power and walked out of the room, his friends by his side.

"How did you think you did?" Jian Yi asked this question as they left the building and headed for the exit.

"What a stupid fucking question, how are we supposed to know how we did? Idiot Yi." Zhan Xi's voice was surprisingly loud.

"Struggle with that did you?" He Tian just grinned his shit eating grin.

"No." Zhan Xi shoved his pencil case back in his backpack, his normally dead pan face was actually looked harassed.

"Xixi did you find that hard? I didn't. Did you Tian?" Jian Yi hopped around his boyfriend, he really didn't know when to stop sometimes.

"Nah, easy peasy." He Tian snorted internally, whatever he could do to add to the situation. It was his duty as the 'shit stirrer' of the group.

"Shut up fucking shitty bastards!" Xixi took off after Jian Yi with his hands like claws.

"Xixi! Come on I didn't mean it! Hahaha!" Jian Yi sprinted away from his boyfriend, just keeping out of head lock's reach.

"You two have never changed, you know that?" He Tian walked behind them shaking his head. He wasn't up for running yet, but the way his recovery and physiotherapy was going, he was on track to return to his normal buff, sexy mother fucker self very soon. The scars just made him look cool and tough.

"Aaahh Zhan Zheng Xi!" Jian Yi screamed and laughed and giggled when his boyfriend finally caught up with him.

Xi hauled him close by the front of his coat, their bodies were very close.

"I will punish you later." Zhan Zheng Xi's look promised a night of passion.

"Umm later? Why not now...." Jian Yi cheeky smile was resplendent across his face.

The two boys belatedly noticed that half the campus had stopped to watch them, some people laughed, some girls giggled madly and snapped pictures with their phones. Guess University life was going to mirror high school life for those two idiots in love. The fawning girls were going to go mad for them.

"Tian, see you cuz!!!" Jian Yi was waving madly as Zhan Xi dragged him away by the hand and the two quickly sprinted off.

He Tian smiled and headed over to the exit, as he reached the street he saw a familiar redhead running towards him from the direction of the Sports University.

"Little Mo." He Tian's heart felt like it pounded out of his chest, when Mo Guan Shan came to a panting stop beside him. He was out of breath, flush faced and he looked beautiful with the winter sun shinning on his hair. Those foxy eyes, always so wary and angry in the past, latched onto Tian's and a smiled spread across Mo's foxy face.

"Hey. How did it go? Fuck that was hard, I still don't know if I've done enough but I guess I will find out soon." Momo looked nervous, but so ready for anything adulthood could throw at him.

He Tian just leaned in and kissed those lush lips, not caring who saw, he slipped his hand into Momo's and felt everything inside him click into place.

"Hey!! Shitty Tian..." Although Mo's grumbling words were traced with embarrassment, he didn't pull away from the soft touch of lips and his gloved hand stayed firmly in his boyfriends.

"Wanna eat? I really want beef stew but none of the stores around here cook it as good as you do Shan." Tian's tone was laced with his usual charming manipulation.

"You are so full of shit sometimes!" Mo sighed dramatically. "Okay, we have to leave some for mom though she's working late tonight."

Even though Mo's mom had enough money to buy a palace (Thanks to He Cheng), she kept her job because she said that she couldn't sit idle while her boys went to university. Tian didn't mind, as long as that beautiful woman was happy he way happy.

"Come on shitty Tian, lets go home." Mo Guan Shan's tugged his boyfriend along with him, onwards to their little family house.

Home. That sounded nice.

*UGLYSOBBING*  Dear Readers,

Thats it, I finished it!  I am so proud of myself, literally well done me.  (I feel like one of those Sims characters when it pats itself on the back for washing the dishes).  Anyhoo wooo, these four boys have literally been through hell.  Now they get to be happy.  I am so happy they're happy.

This has been such good fun to write, I am now going to end this part here and look out for a separate story on my profile, I haven't got a name yet, but University here we come!
