My Sweet Omega Chapter 9: Time for An Ultrasound

"Aren't you excited? You get to see your baby for the first time" Patton said as he and Logan had joined Virgil in the Omega Ward.

"Remind me why we joined them when they could've told us after they were done?" Logan had asked his husband.

"Because I wanted to be his moral support" he had replied practically bouncing in his seat.

Virgil sighed as he rubbed his round and firm belly.

"What's wrong my sweet, dark storm cloud?" Roman asked.

"I am worried. What if the doctor finds some sort of abnormality with the baby?" he said. 

Roman sighed. He knew he was the embodiment of anxiety but Virgil tended to worry a bit too much. 

"I am sure our baby is fine darling," he said holding his lover's hand.

"But what if it isn't???? I can't bear the thought to do that to my own flesh and blood" Virgil said in a panicked state. Before Roman had the chance to reply the nurse had called Virgil's name.

"Ah Mr. Moore how is the pregnancy going so far? " the doctor had asked as soon as Roman and Virgil had entered the room.

"So far it's  been going well.  The baby keeps using my ribs to practice kick boxing" the anxious side has replied as he watched the doctor prep the ultrasound machine. 

Virgil laid down on the bed thingy with Roman taking a seat besides him.  Virgil lifted his shirt enough to expose his protruding belly. 

"All righty then let's see your baby" he said,  smearing  the gel on Virgil's belly.  Virgil shuddered at the  cold sensation as the doctor started moving the wand around his belly.  Suddenly the room was filled with the sound of the unborn child's rapid heartbeat. 

Roman's eyes widened at the sound as Virgil looked at the screen anxiously.

"There is your baby. Wanna know the gender? " the doctor asked.  Virgil and Roman quickly nodded.  The doctor moved the wand around even more before stopping. 

"Congratulations you are gonna have a healthy baby girl" he said.  Virgil felt tears well uo in his eyes as the doctor printed out the ultrasound picture and put it in a envelope.  Virgil wiped the  gel off his belly and pulled his shirt down. 

"Oh my God Virgil.  We are having a daughter" Roman said as they exited the room to see Patton and Logan looking at them.

"Well what are you having? " the Moral side said. 

"We are having a girl" Virgil said.
Patton squealed happily.

"Baby shower!!! " he said.

Virgil smiled.
Maybe it wasn't  gonna be so bad after all.
