My Sweet Omega Chapter 12: It Is (Finally) Time

I am at my final stage of pregnancy. To say Roman and I were nervous was the understatement of the freaking century. I rubbed my huge belly as I watched a movie on Netflix with Roman. 

"What's wrong my love?" he asked me.

"I am just nervous...tomorrow is the supposed day our little Rose will come into the world. What if I screw up...like really badly" I said softly, a finger slowly rubbing circles on my belly. I could feel Roman's lips against my temple.

"Virgil it is gonna be fine. We're gonna be fine. We are going to be great parents. Hell, the greatest parents even. I know parenthood may be a scary experience but you are not alone. You have me, Patton, Logan, and Remus...I guess. Point is we are gonna get through this...together." he said. I smiled as I rested my head on Roman's chest slowly drifting off to sleep in my Alpha's arms.

However, peaceful nights sleep didn't last long. I awoke to a sharp pain rippling through my abdomen and the feeling of fluid gushing down my leg, soaking my skeleton onesie. My water had broken and the pain I felt was a contraction. 

"Roman. Roman wake the hell up!! My water has broken" I whisper yelled at my mate, shaking him awake.

"What? Who woke me up" Roman slurred his words as he rubbed his eyes.

"It's me you moron. Rose is coming. My water just broke. AH!" I nearly doubled over as another contraction hit me.

A look of realization came upon Roman's face as he quickly got up and picked me up. He quickly scrawled a note for Patton and Logan before heading to the car. 

Roman put me in the passenger seat of his car before getting into the driver's seat and sped off to the Omega Ward. 

"Hold on Virgil we are almost there! Remember the breathing exercises " he reassured me. His panicking tone of voice didn't help me feel very reassured.

"How did Patton even deal with this??? This hurts way too muuuuchhhh" I groaned as contraction after contraction ripped through my body. Roman quickly parked in the parking lot of the Omega Ward and quickly went to the passenger seat and picked me up. He rushed inside.

"HELP! MY MATE IS IN LABOR!" he shouted.

The nurses rushed over with a wheelchair that Roman carefully placed me in before the nurses wheeled me to the delivery room. 

"Quickly give Mr.Moore an epidural, then check how much he has dilated" the midwife instructed as they helped me get into a hospital gown.

I was put onto the bed as Roman sat beside me holding my hand the midwife checked in on my progress.

"Ok, Mr.Moore you are just about ready to bring your baby into the world. On the next contraction, I want you to give me the biggest push you can muster ok" she said. I nodded and braced myself. The next contraction hit and I bore down with all my might, squeezing Roman's hand too hard in the process.

"Very good Mr.Moore another push. Push !"  the midwife coached as I pushed even more. 

"You are doing great Virgil" Roman whispered into my ear. I looked at him, "the sweat already accumulating on my forehead.

"I can see the head. A few more pushes and her head is out" the midwife. I did as I was told and I could feel Rose's head exit my body. But I was far from done.

"There we go. We are almost there Mr.Moore. Just keep pushing" the midwife coached.

"Almost there Virgil..you can do it," Roman said. I let my head fall down back onto the pillow as I felt the tears come.

"I-I can't. This hurts too much Roman. I am too tired" Virgil said.

"Yes, you can my love. Just a few more pushes and we finally get to meet our little Rose...don't you dare give up" Roman said.

That was the push I needed (no pun intended) as I bore down one last time and felt the rest of Rose's little body exit me. The room was filled with the cries of a baby as the midwife cleared her airways of mucus and phlegm.

"Congratulations Mr.Moore. It is a healthy baby girl" the midwife announced as she placed the newborn on my chest.

"Oh my god. Virgil look at her. She is so beautiful. Our little Rose. She is finally here" Roman said.

I smiled as I kissed her forehead.

"Welcome to the world Rose Sally Moore" I whispered.
