6:00 AM"Dummkopf!" The tricoloured country spat angrily as he pressed his face into a pillow.
("What the hell is wrong with me? My own thoughts betray me!")
His hands gripped the soft fabric of the pillow even tighter than before, as he became increasingly more irritated.
("How?")
("How in the name of Gott.. could I ever think like that about my historical enemy just like that?!")
A short, exasperated sigh left the German's lips as his grip on the pillow loosened in defeat.
("This is tragic.")
("I'm starting to like the very person that I was antagonising basically all my life.. I wasn't supposed to grow to like him!")
Germany couldn't believe it, although he was the one who carried out all these actions it didn't feel like it was him really doing any of it; Germany he knew wouldn't act like this, he wouldn't act under some sudden impulses. His moves were always calculated and well thought out, not spontaneous and thoughtless. Once again he felt betrayed by himself."Ugh.. why the hell did I drag him into my car?" He muttered into his pillow, trying to comprehend his own unusual behaviour, until a sudden thought hit him- the car...
Poland left his car at the EU's carpark."Great, that idiot won't make it to the
NATO meeting, at least I won't have to see his face for the rest of the day."
He told himself reassuringly, but he felt a small inexplicable prick to his chest at the thought." It's not like he's gonna walk all that way now, is he..?"
Somewhat frustrated, he looked up at his phone.
"I mean it kind of is my fault for dragging him with me..."
The tricoloured country scrolled through the long list of business contacts he had on his phone.
("Now who am I gonna call to fix this mess?") He thought to himself as his dark eyes stopped on one name in particular- Hungary.
From what he saw at work, him and Poland were friends so picking the white and red country up from his house shouldn't be that much of a problem itself, but there was one or maybe even two other problems. First problem being distance as the two of them didn't share a common border, and unfortunately it was probably too late already to make the call, for the Hungary to be able to make it there on time.He was just about to call Czech Republic but then yet another problem was born in his mind, he didn't really want to explain to Czechia what events led to Poland's car being left back there, what will his relatives think when they'll hear about this?
They'll start pointing out how weird it is that it was Germany out of all countries decided to drive Poland home, when just a few days ago he's been making all sorts of unsavoury comments about him, or jump to some odd conclusions and tease him for it.
He looked down at his silver Rolex, alarmed by the fact that time was running out he felt pressured into making snappy decisions.
"Fine then... I'll solve this on my own."
He told himself in a quiet yet decisive tone, feeling slightly off-put by the thought of having to make a detour from his usual route to the meeting spot.
