Elle fell asleep on my shoulder with Buddy on her lap. Carefully, I move Buddy and her to a more comfortable position. Laying down next to her, she subconsciously lays her head on my chest. Kissing her forehead, I watch her sleep. She's peaceful.
My phone dings. I try to ignore it but it dings again, and again. Sighing, I stand and grab my phone off my desk. My twitter is blowing up. Opening it, I see Peter has tweeted to me.

My jaw clenches as I grip the phone. My curiosity gets the best of me and I scroll through the comments.

Sighing, I shut off my phone and look at Elle. She's rolled over onto her side and is curled into a small ball. Buddy is curled into her. Smiling, I walk over and kiss her temple.
When I get downstairs, I can hear everyone talking in the living room.
"He loves her," Devyn comments.
"He truly does and it hurt him just as much as it hurt her," Corey speaks. They're talking about Peter.
"I know and I fucking hate him for it," I announce walking into the room.
"You should."
"What do you think he was going to do?" Sam questions.
"I think he was going to rape her," I grit. My jaw clenches. "He pisses me off."
"What's his problem?"
"He said it's because I slept with his girlfriend fucking four years ago. I just- why does he have to go after her? Why can't he come after me as a person and not go for the woman I love."
"Do you really love her?" Devyn questions.
"Yeah," I chuckle, "with all of me."
When I go back upstairs, she's still asleep. Since I left my phone up here, I have several personal messages and Twitter messages. When I open them, most of them have to do with Peter.
