Colby

The room is almost too bright when I wake up.

"Thank god you're okay," a voice mumbles next to me. Looking over, I see Sam and Elton.

"Where's Elle?" I ask, trying to sit up. A searing pain runs through my abdomen as I do.

"Take it easy," Elton chuckles.

"Is she okay?" I ask once I sit up. Sam grabs the remote and presses a button to lift the top of the bed. Sighing, I rest against it.

"Kat is trying to get all the news she can," Sam assures. "What happened?"

"We were driving and someone sped through an intersection and hit us. We spun, flipped, and then hit a tree."

"Holy shit," Elton gasps.

"And a guy came up to us to check on us and he said there wasn't another car. The other person drove away."

"Damn," Sam comments.

"Is Elle even awake?"

"No," Elton sighs. My heart pounds.

"Her head was injured so it's most likely because of that."

"It's my fault," I groan.

"No, it's not Colby," Elton assures.

"Where's everyone else?"

"They're on their way," Sam assures, "they called me because I'm your emergency contact and then I called Elton."

"I want to see her," I whisper.

"You're not able to sit up without being in pain, Colby."

"I don't care, Sam, you'd be the same way if it was Kat."

"I know," he sighs, "but you have two broken ribs, a broken arm, and you lost quite a bit of blood. You need to rest. She's in good hands."

"I want her to know that I'm sorry," I mumble.

"For what?"

"Peter leaked the video. That video was the whole reason we went on a drive. I left my laptop opened and he hacked into the webcam and recorded us."

"That doesn't sound like your fault, Colby," Elton chuckles lightly.

"I left the computer open."

"And Peter hacked into it and leaked the video. None of this was your fault. Stop blaming yourself."

"I don't get why he won't leave us alone. There's something wrong with him."

"He's jealous that you have Elle and that you're successful without him," Elton clarifies.

"Is he actually obsessed with her?" I question, looking up at the ceiling. "Someone doesn't go after someone that much unless they're obsessed."

"Maybe," Sam shrugs. "He can't get to her here."

"What room is she in?"

"A couple of rooms down," Sam answers.

"Why the hell isn't she awake? Her injuries looked like they weren't as bad as mine."

"They may have looked like that but there's no telling about inside her body," Elton responds. It's quiet until Brennen, Corey, and Jake walk in.

"You look like shit," Jake teases.

"Thanks, man," I laugh. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm moving to LA!" He announces.

"That's great dude," I smile.
