Minjeong's POV

I just got home from the whole hiking shit, accompanied by that egg-faced guy, and he is actually way nicer than I thought.

I am so grateful that he was there to help me with the fares. I mean, if it weren't for him, I would've ended up walking home in a few miles by feet.

That's exaggerating, but still, my apartment is still far away from the hiking place.

I immediately jumped into my bed, heaving out a sigh, but then my stomach grumbled, as I put my hands onto my stomach.

I reached out for my phone in my backpack, only to realize that I already threw my backpack onto the couch in the living room.

I got up with a groan, heading to the living room, and looked into my backpack to look for my phone.

As I found it, I scrolled through my contact lists, and dialed Yeonjun's number, waiting for him to pick up.

While waiting for him to do so, my eyes landed on the small gap between my front door and the floor, and a pair of shoes could be seen through the small gap.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, as I slowly made my way towards my front door, and opened the door in an immediate so the person at my doorstep couldn't get the chance to run away.

"Egg-faced guy??"

The guy smiled sheepishly at me, as his hand made its way towards his nape. "What are you doing here? I thought you already went home,"

"Hello?", Yeonjun spoke through the phone, only answering my phone call after a few rings.

"Took you long enough to answer my phone call, huh?", I told him, holding my index finger up at Namjoon as a sign to excuse myself.

"Sorry, I was in the toilet. Anyway, why did you call me?", he asked.

"I'm hungry. Get me pizza on your way home," I told Yeonjun.

"Such a pig,"

"YAH! WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?? DO YOU REALLY WANT ME TO BLOW UP YOUR APARTMENT??? DO YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE SLEEPING IN THE STREET OR WHAT–"

"Okay, okay! Chill, okay. I'll buy you pizza," he immediately surrendered.

"Good. Goodbye, bitch.", I said and ended the call without bothering to wait for his reply.

I shifted my attention back to the guy, as I leaned against my door frame, crossing my arms against my chest.

"So, what is it?", I asked him.

"Um, nothing. I actually...um, I guess I'll just go home–"

Before he could walk away, I grabbed his backpack strap, and his pace was immediately stopped.

He looked back at me, with an awkward smile, before taking a deep breath, looking back at me.

"I was thinking if we could...um, grab a pizza together? I'm hungry too, and–"

"You're paying?", I cut him off, looking at him in excitement.

"Well, yeah–"

"Let's go!", I cut in, running back to my room to put on a hoodie, before rushing back to the front door where the egg-faced guy would be waiting for me.

I closed the door to my apartment, as it automatically locked, and we both made our way towards the elevator, and directly headed towards the lobby.

There's a Domino's right in front of my apartment building, so we just have to walk across the road to get there.

I was about to cross the road, but then the egg-faced guy pulled me towards him, as my back rested on his chest.

I looked up to him, and he was literally panting, looking at me with wide eyes, as if he was really scared of me getting hit by the sudden car coming from the other end of the road.

I quickly get myself off him, before looking at him. He suddenly grabbed my wrist, a little bit too tight.

"Don't do that ever again," he said, and he looks mad, before walking across the road, leaving me behind him.

I quickly ran after him, as we walked into Domino's, and he has picked a table of two next to the window.

I slowly sat right across him, and he was staring out to the window, looking at the street, seems to be deep in thought.

"Yah,"

"Hm?", he hummed in response, turning his head to me.

"You're okay?", I asked, as he nodded, giving me an assuring smile. "You look so freaked out when I almost got hit,"

"It's because...", he trailed off, as I looked at him in anticipation for him to continue his sentence. "..it's none of your concern," he smiled.

"Pft," I scoffed, and a guy came to our table, handing us both a laminated paper of menu list.

"I'll have set A," we both said in unison, as the guy looked at us, chuckling while shaking his head.

"You guys really are soulmates," he laughed. "So, two set A. That's it?"

"Um, yes.", Namjoon answered, so the guy collected the menu list, and left to deliver our order.

"I see you're really close to Yeonjun,"

"Yeah, we really are. We've been friends for almost 10 years," I said.

"That's...so you guys basically grew up together?", he asked, seems to be getting interested in the topic.

"Yeah, we're neighbours when we were kids. And by that time we were living in Ilsan, until we moved here."

"You guys were from Ilsan too?", he asked again.

"Yeah, why?"

"Me too," he beamed, his eyes formed a thin line as he smiles brightly.

"Ooh, nice! Now I have a friend that can accompany me to Ilsan," I beamed happily.

"Hm? Wait, what about Yeonjun?"

"Oh, his parents died when he was 10 so he doesn't have a reason to go back to Ilsan anymore. But he always come with me if I go back there to visit my family,"

"Oh," he muttered lowly. "What about you?", he questioned, resting his head on his hands.

"My parents?", I mumbled, earning an eager nod from the guy in front of me.

"I lost my father when I was in middle school, and now my mother...she's suffering from...um, brain cancer...middle stage,"

His smile dropped as he heard my story about my family background. He slowly pulled his hands back to his side, sitting up straightly, averting his gaze.

"I'm s-sorry," he apologized. "I shouldn't have asked," he added, looking at me with an apologetic smile.

"It's fine, I am used to it anyway. It's not like I'm going to cry," I assured him, and that is when a guy came, holding two pans of pizza in both of his hands.

Another guy placed our drinks onto the table, giving us a welcoming smile. We both thanked him, and they both left to go back to work.

Namjoon handed me my drink, as I smiled at his warm gesture. He returned me a smile, but then his eyes suddenly widened at me.

"What are you looking at–"

Before I could finish my sentence, Namjoon pulled me closer towards him, as our faces are only an inch away.

My eyes widened in shock too, as I looked at his face in total confusion, and I felt my heart beating really really fast.

Why am I acting like this?
