Fighting Gerald certainly isn't easy. I had almost lost hope in stopping the bomb. Actually, I have pretty much lost hope.

"Well Alexandra, I think your time is up." I kick at his legs and wherever I can but he doesn't loosen his grip. I can't do anything.

"Let me go Gerald!"

"Hmm. I think not. The police might be here soon and you'll die with everyone else. It's only fair right? The people's one and only saviour, die trying to rescue them. It has a nice wrap to it." He grins evilly at me while I struggle in his arms.

"You'll never win." I try biting him but his flesh feels like steel. He doesn't even flinch.

"Oh, I will. In fact, I'm going to win right now." Before I can react, he's pulled a trigger. A timer shows I have five minutes to get out of the building and everyone at a safe distance.

"Good bye Alexandra Jennings. Enjoy your death." I run at him but he closes the door to the room faster than I can reach him. I slam my fists against the door to no avail.

"Let me out you sicko! I hope you die in tartarus!" I slide to the floor, feeling lost.

I'd overestimated him and lost. I'd failed everyone. My biggest hope was that Dix had gotten everyone out of the way of the explosion and safe. As for me, I couldn't do anything. I rubbed my eyes and tried to quell the tears that threatened to spill.

I stood up to give myself something to do. The bomb, as I'd seen when I'd first entered the room, was huge. And I couldn't find a single way to stop it. It didn't even have wires! How Gerald could set it on a timer I didn't know.

"Think Alex, think! Those people up there are relying on you. Stay alive for them. Stay alive!" I bang my head against the door and try the handles again. It's shut fast. Looking around the room, I spotted everyone's belongings scattered around the floor. There were some odd items around the room. Someone had brought a fan and another person had brought tongs. Yet another person had brought bubble mix. I saw more makeup in this room too.

My eyes snap back to the bubblemix and an idea forms in my head. Grabbing the mix, I shake it up. I sneak a look back at the timer while I grab some more makeup powder. Three minutes. I just had enough time.

I look around the room for another exit and see another door at the end of the room. It's a far way away but I curse myself for not realising it was there. Still, I needed to stop the bomb as much as possible.

Looking around the bomb again, I can see a small hole in the top. I realise it's where Gerald must've pulled the pin from. I rub as much powder into the hole as I can get. I look around the room, trying to see if there's anything else but there's nothing.

"A shield would be nice", I mumble. But I keep filling the hole. Soon it's almost full but not completely.

"Now to finish and run." I pour the bubblemix into the hole. Once the bottle is empty, I sprint to the door. I quickly read the time on the bomb over my shoulder as I ran. One and a half minutes.

I burst through the door only to find myself in another room. But this room is open and I can see everyone gathered at the roadside. I can see worried figures run toward each other but i can't hear anything.

They're at least fifty metres away. A grassy area where the year 12's eat their lunch, a couple of pathways and a gate are stopping me from getting to them.

I start to sprint toward them but before I even reach the middle of the grassy area someone grabs me.

"You're not getting away so fast little girl." I punch Gerald in the face. I'm very aware of the time and how long the bomb has until it explodes.

"You're not going to make it. Now that I'm stopping you, you'll never make it. A minute? Pah. You'll die trying, just like you should." I try attacking him again but he dodges.

"I will win you bastard. You took Niyx from me and I will not let you take all these people away from each other." Gerald punches me. I can't hear anything for a few moments and I feel like cotton balls are stuck in my brain.

"We'll see about th-" I can just hear him saying those words before I have to retch. When I look up, all I can see a figure punching Gerald's guts out. They came at him so fast I didn't have time to react.

"Alex! Go! Get out of here! Go!" I can't make out the voice and my brain isn't working. My body is doing the exact opposite of what my brain is telling me. I need to help that person. They can't die alone.

But I'm running away. I stop and turn around.

"Come! We can make it!" The figure looks up and I inhale sharply.

"I'm sorry Alex."

The bomb explodes.
