Valerie's POV
Tony and realize our mistake of trying to navigate New York's complicated streets in a personal vehicle. Paparazzi swarmed us as soon as we left. So we decided to turn back and walk instead. We slipped out the back and walked the 20 blocks to the mall.
"What store do you want to go to first?" Tony asks me as soon as we enter the mall.
"Earthbound!" I say and lead him to my favorite store. He chuckles at my excitement. The smell of Earthbound is amazing, contrasting the smog filled New York City air.
"You don't mind if I burn incense, do you?" I ask. I loved living with Tony, but I did miss the familiar scent of burning incense.
"Not at all," Tony answers.
"Awesome! Come help pick some out," I say and grab his hand and drag him over to the incense. I immediately grab a few cinnamon scented sticks.
"Here, this smells good," Tony hands me a stick called Chinese Rain. I hold the stick under my nose and smell it. He's right it does smell good.
I ended up getting a lot of incense sticks:
6 Cinnamon
4 Chinese
5 Aphrodisiac
5 Lavender
5 Tangerine
5 Sticks titled Love
I grabbed a few shirts and a pair of pants. In total I spent $78.67. Well Tony did anyway, he refused to let me pay.
"Where's the fun of going shopping with you if I can't spend money on you?" Had been his reasoning.
We stopped in Claire's and I got new earrings and ear cuffs and I got a new dress from Macy's. Luckily I was able to convince Tony to let me pay for my stuff, though he did pout a little. I had noticed something, ever since we had started dating, he hasn't been drinking. He does at parties, he only has a few glasses, but he doesn't just drink it randomly throughout the day like he used to.
I'm proud that he managed to really kick the habit. I just hope he did it for himself and not for me.
