Chapter 29

Message in a bottle

Mickey was walking along the streets of New Orleans when he felt strange eyes peeping at him. He let this pass and continued his walk when he was interrupted by a bird with a message.
"Oh gosh a note, but from who I'm in another timeline?" Said Mickey as he took the bottle and read aloud. Mama Odie's voice rang in mickeys head.
"Listen closely Mickey I've kept a close eye on the shadow man and he's revived more villains. Keep your eyes open for dark powers. Here's an amulet that will allow you to sense the dark hearts in each villain. Please take note they will be disguised so you won't notice them at first, but he can only change an appearance not who they are. Their personalities will remain the same. I'm sure this won't be the only time he's going to revive a villain to New Orleans, so be carful and stay strong. yours truly, Mama Odie."
"Oh gosh, but how does it work?" Mickey placed the bottle in his bag and paid the bird. He walked passed a giant casino and then the amulet started to glow. "this must be how I will know if a dark heart is near. "He looked closely at the casino. "Hmm very intriguing, it's an underground casino, but why would a villain be here?" Micky went ahead and entered the casino with his bag close in hand.

Chapter 30

Gamble of the life.

Mickey walked around the casino and the amulet faded and turned to a pitch black.
"Gosh I must be getting close." Mickey continued walking and he felt uneasy about the environment. Many of the people who were gambling stopes to stare at Mickey. their eyes glowed colors of orange and black. Mickey walked to the end where a man sat in a throne. His hair was black and greasy with white stripes looking like seams in fabric. His clothes were rugged but still nice. He wore a white collared shirt with a red vest and a large green jacket, with a pair of gloves to help him role dice. He was playing with a pair of red dice with skulls on them.
"What! Snake eyes!" said the man who then banged the table. "Eleven!" He started to laugh as he collected his winnings. "You there mouse lets play a game, me and you have some business to discuss." Mickey walked up and pulled a chair.
"What are we playing for?" Mickey asked reaching in his bag.
"Oh let's see here, there's money, property, information, oh I got it!" he stood up walked over to Mickey and whispered in his ear. "Your life." The man reached into Mickey's chest and stole his heart then into his. He placed both hearts on the table. "now what shall we play, oh I know this is a game I learned back in halloween town."
"Wait halloween town, casino, you must be..."
"Oogie boogie in the fabric, or flesh now."
"Ok I know how you play and you play for keeps, I'm ready lets play." Mickey grabbed a set of cards and started to look at his hand.
Chapter 31

Skulls and bones

"Now you know how to play skulls and bones?" asked Oggie Boogie taking his hand.
"It's just poker on the human world. I know how to play." Mickey fixed his hand and placed it down.
"Not the way I play." Oogie Boogie pulled a chain and the casino area turned into a fighting arena. "let's play." Slot machines turned into robot gunners, metal cards circled around Mickey. Oogie Boogie stood ahead of Mickey ready for a fight.
"I don't have time for your games." Mickey jumped up and grabbed both hearts and threw Oogie Boogie's heart into a pit of lava.
"No you fool what have you done." He started to turn back to fabric bag and a string got fought in the machine. He started to unravel. "My bugs, my beautiful bugs, my bugs, my bugs." he repeated these words till the was nothing but a small ear-wick. Mickey took his chance and squashed him while he could.
"Filthy creature, good thing his dark heart is out of the picture" all of the darkness faded and Mickey appeared back on the surface only the casino was never there. "Gosh what happened. oh well I must continue my journey."
